So many great tunes this month - well done All
BJ keep up the good work
Taron, congrats my friend. I think you know how I feel about you. You're one of the people here who keeps me around.Taron wrote:I wha...?

Man, you have no idea how puzzled I am right now, really happy, but really puzzled, too. Guenon, CymaticCreation and Slava (sfiks) did some outstanding masterpieces this time, which I will most certainly listen to again and you might not understand what a rare thing that is. So...I agree with zprime on that, too.
BUT you won't see me complain, uhm, nah! It's not the winning itself, of course, but it is how you give my most natural, musical self validation that I completely did not expect. And, once again, the joy that goes into a track, gives it its soul. And, man, did I love it.
Anyhow,CONGRATS
to the winners
and really everyone, who has managed to make a proper TyrellN6 track, because they'll always sound like quality tracks as almost all of yours do!
Many of you did some of the best tracks I've heard you do, yet. There is some magic in this synth for sure!![]()
And THANK YOU!
...and, bj, you know I always thank you as we all can't really thank you enough for running this show!
You rock!
Oh... u-he:Zebra, please!
It's a wonderful feeling isn't it. Well, it's a feeling I don't get when these things are all over. In fact, when these things are all over, all I feel is discouraged and even a bit angry. And whatever joy I had making my track is gone.musical self validation

Thank you very muchactioncat wrote:agreed. there's been a few times I kinda wanted to move all tracks down a place to give my favorite the only 5... but this time I actually did it.
Well, whatever you meant it comes down to this.Taron wrote:Wag, wag, wag... I should point out that I meant: the validation of my "Musical Self", not self validation via music. There's a massive difference, really. I just don't want this to be misunderstood, because nobody has to be validated for we're all "valid" and wonderful from birth.
To everyone of us there are many musical sides, expressing our mood, our desires, our observations and explorations, but not every time can we really let go without some repercussions, as most of us know already, I assume.
This time felt to me like I completely let it go its own way, only grooming its own development. With every new gate I almost went deeper into my own mind, which sounds a bit contradictory, but it's the best way I can describe it. At some point it pried open a complete absence of superficial concerns, revealing what I fully love to create until this freed me to just have a bit of fun back to the outside world, so to say...rather outside of my normal comfort zone, but still totally fun. Thus, this was probably the most liberating win for me, yet.
What I'm trying to tell you with this is that the most important thing I got from this was to completely embrace making music for myself. Where this revelation comes from is much less important than the revelation itself. Thus, keep making music for yourself and I'm really happy you've managed to enjoy yourself making it!Never mind the charts!
A little extra info: I considered making a dubstep-style song for the next one, but it really isn't me. I feel awkward and insincere going for it. Though I can appreciate many manifestations of that style, it really just isn't me (yet). After a brief exchange on the #92 thread on how quickly some songs were made and posted, I remembered how quickly I used to make songs and started a totally careless little piece, showing me again what comes most natural to me.![]()
The tune you made is cheerful and friendly and nice, and that's something to be proud of, in itself. On occasion I've noticed I'm humming the main melody here. It sticks to your head and is a success in that sense.wagtunes wrote:It isn't worth it. The whole competition thing ruins any enjoyment I got out of doing the piece in the first place.
You used two hours in making that trackwagtunes wrote:I was the first one to finish, taking all of about 2 hours.
The point is, these results aren't telling you that, and don't make yourself believe that sort of thing. If you put in two hours, and the track places near the bottom end, it's not indicative of you being "slightly better than the worst of the worst." In my opinion that placement is to be expected, for a two-hour effort, and reading too much else into it is just being too hard on yourself.wagtunes wrote:To be consistently told you are slightly better than the worst of the worst gets tiresome after a while.
Hi 3lu5iv3, I'm really pleased that you entered your track in the OSC, it's a bit of genious for me, and this is what I feel (no kind words,<wink>)3lu5iv3 wrote:Congrats to all the winners!
