+1 I kinda feel the same. Let's hope they improve their coding skills and deliver less buggy versions in the future, but knowing the past of Bitwig (stupid little bugs, regressions) it's hard to have faith in it and pay 160 Euro for another round of beta testing.Reefius wrote:I've been calling it Bugwig for a long time now, because development has always been 1 step forward and 2 steps back. For every bug they fixed there seemed to be 2 new ones popping up. That's why I believe the new license model is totally outrageous.
We've been paying beta testers for Bitwig over the past years and now they have the nerve to ask for even more money to keep beta testing. Enough is enough.
License model no way !!!

i once saw a family with a 6 year old laying crying on the floor bumping on the floor with all four limbs like he is mad. obviously rich family (very big car, very expensive suits).i jsut came from work into that musicstore to grab me a songbook, but that fuckin kid was so loud one can not imagine. he liteally cleared out the whole store, crying for his ludwig drumset (! pr0 quality of course, not some chickenshit kiddo set. guess thats y the salesman was quiet as f**k cos a few thousands bucks cash flowin in) which he should get for birthday, which was today, but due to some reality shit, as far as i understood the salesman said, its delivered the next day. was enough for that little fella, he started to yell like someone tortures him. the parents werent able to talk to him, and they really tried to seriously explain him whats happenedgreenfly wrote:How old are the people who are complaining about the price. i just stood there and was hardly able not to laugh out in a burst. ;D
thats what i see most of the time here, crying 6 year old kids not getting what they want immediately and cheap.

Well, I can understand if you guys just poor students and have no job. Need to ask parents to give you 170$.
People all over the world are buying new iphones (or other phones) for 700$ every year. For what? New smiles? And that seems to be OK.
Dom and his team in this business are already more than (maybe) some of your's age. And you are crying and teaching here what they need to do. I'm sure that they know what they are doing.
And most of you don't really understand what's difference between new license model and typical subscription. And after explanation still don't. How you can make music and be not smart enough to understand simple things at the time?
There no such huge bugs which make troubles in creating music. Maybe restart engine and that's it. Stop to disappoint potential new users who may read this.
You may call me a "fanboy". But what I see here is a huge amount of crybabies.
Bitwig won't loose anything if you just switch the DAW. Less headache at the end.

You can agree with others or not. But, since they are also paying custommers, they have all right in the world to express their opinions. And noone, not even you, is entitled to shut them up.

Lol that was funny.
I feel the same vibe to be honest from reading some of the comments on this thread. I will be upgrading my Bitwig license to version 2 and have no qualms about the pricing strategy and model. If this is what Bitwig see as the best solution to roll out upgrades and new functionality quicker and allows them to fund and resource the product then it's a win - win situation.
I'll take a view at the end of 12 month to see if a new upgrade is worth the money but if I don't perceive any tangible benefits to my workflow I simply won't upgrade. I do the same with Native instruments Komplete and update the bundle after 2 or 3 cycles which gives me more bang for my buck so to speak.
My primary DAW is Ableton, so it will be interesting to see if they move to a similar pricing strategy with Ableton 10 when it surfaces.

The release notes show there were 6 regressions. There was 6 releases where this definitely happened.Coockie1176ln wrote: Also i dont feel that 2 new pop up for every fix, i think that is baised on what others are saying and that feeling is based on a feeling more than truth. 6 of the 2 back 1 forward variety on record (at least). There are thousands of bugs fixed. Just pointing out this wasn't mob mentality or feeling.Coockie1176ln wrote:Yeah so they defently fixed more then 6 bugs. 6 isnt really a lot lol. Surely a single regression from a bug fix is 1 forward 1 back?humanbeingbeing wrote:6 of the 2 back 1 forward variety on record (at least). There are thousands of bugs fixed. Just pointing out this wasn't mob mentality or feeling.
At least that's what I tell my clients.

Now you're confusing me, actually a regression technically can be n backmarvotron wrote:Surely a single regression from a bug fix is 1 forward 1 back?humanbeingbeing wrote:6 of the 2 back 1 forward variety on record (at least). sure and a single code change could fix N bugs AND create M regressions then before you know it we've invented some kind of software / code quality calculus.

Exactly more bug fixes then regressions so every bug fix dont equal 2 steps back. So yeah its just a feeling ppl are baised on not factshumanbeingbeing wrote:6 of the 2 back 1 forward variety on record (at least). There are thousands of bugs fixed.
