That's my main weapon of choice.

Other pedals...EHX BigMuff (the Russian version), Dunlop Crybaby (Hendrix edition), some Ibanez digi delay, a Boss volume pedal...probably something else as well that I can't remember now. But yeah, tape echo = love.

That Ibanez thingy must be the most vile and nasty distortion I've come across. The delays and Kaoss Pad combined made for some fine noise, but when the DS7 was engaged it became very... interesting.
[electr. mistr.] means Electric Mistress, which doesn't seem to flange anymore. Damn!

A very long time ago I was in an ad-hoc band that used an MXR flanger on vocals. Using mic-feedback was an essential part of the vocal bits, and tweaking the settings made for some great sounds. I should rip that casette sometimes.
The owner sold the MXR not long after the recording. Bastard.

Slowly expanding on the collection (yes my head is very often into e-bay or marktplaats - the dutch 2nd market is huge)

I do have a guitar, but can't play it really so I have loads of fun splitting signals from the keys and route them around, although I'm waiting for 10 new patch-cables (on their way) since the expansion of equipment has left me in dire need of cables

My main interest is in unusual and 'vintage' 60's or 70's gear

Maybe change the thread title to something like "Guitar pedals for sound design, not guitars," otherwise you're going to eventually get a bunch of talk about how folk get their perfect guitar tone and the like.

I think a small outboard mixer will do the trick for you

I recently just bought a VOX Valvetronix 15. It's good for playing the guitar, but it's also good to whack in the microphone and go nuts. Also got a BluescreamerII pedal, and an Ibanez DS-7 and PH-7.

with a multi in-out soundcard. in programs like cool edit or modular hosts you play the track you want fxed through a secondary output into the pedals and than back, recording. still you should hear the results through the main outputs. I do it with the delta44.

I would like to know which is the best envelope follower filter for basses for stompbox lovers. (for anyone knowing Amp Fiddler, the one used on the second track of "waltz of a ghetto fly", bliss).
the usual ones from pedalboards are horribile, and even in good plugins like the obertone filterbank or classic filter the envelope action isn't that twangy.
the Lovetone Meatball looks tasty, but the price keeps me far. any advice?

I used a mixer, and my computer has a Delta 44 on board. I routed the signal back into my mixer and Rutger's pedals by adding additional outputs in AudioMulch. The nice thing about 'Mulch is that you can do this on the fly.

I always wondered what those inserts are for but I guess they're just for recording not for mixing
