Maybe you don't like the music, but the production values on a lot of those records are great. I wound up doing a trip with my niece one year, and she had the latest Spice Girls album, which she played incessantly. The songs eventually drove me crazy, but I was quite impressed by the production
Who would be in a boy band??

just so you know, The Simpsons did an episode about this, with Bart, Milhouse, Nelson and Ralph Wiggum groomed as a boy band called "The Party Posse" - their big song was "Drop Tha Bomb", and they were even given advice by N*Sync . Synopsis and the script can be found here.

You think it's a production line in Europe/US? Come over here and take a look. There's a company that specialises in turning out clones perfectly suited to making teenage girls faint - Johnny's. And it has a near monopoly on the business.
It's like something out of a bad dream. There'll be the main boy band on stage and behind them a mob of boy band prospectives doing their dancing stuff (and it's been the same bloody awful dance for as long as I can remember). Even more nauseating, there's Johnny's Junior. I think the youngest I've seen was about four years old. And already he's having his head emptied of anything useful by the friendly company men. Really, I wouldn't be suprised if they took their search for the perfect boy band to the womb - Johnny's Embryos. Or just go the whole hog and clone the bastards.

The girl I was totally in love with in those times was totally in love with the lead singer from New Kids. How could I compete?Ildon wrote:New Kids on the Block!

First thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title was an old Lunch Money post:

Lunch Money wrote: I tried Giffing sickle to look effeminate, but instead he just looked like a wiry latino tough. Bah.
