LRS,

I have some webspace, so if I figure out how to set up an FTP there, you can just transfer the full wave to the ftp site. :D If you're good with OGG or FLAC, or want to just use Tracktion's built-in options for the two, you can export a compressed file which will save a lot of bandwidth.

This is quite fun, I gotta say. I should have almost a full day ahead of me, so I should have the mockup done by today... but then again, that's what I thought about the long weekend. However, this time I've sent her out to have drinks with her friend. That should get her out of my hair for a bit. <chuckle>

OK, another mockup is online at the Auditorium. This one should finalize the song structure at least. I mean, I could change and change forever and keep coming up with better and more creative variations, but this 'tried-and-true' kind of structure seems to be working!

As I mention in my post at the Auditorium, it'd be best to get the drums first, but don't let that stop anybody from checking out the progress so far. ;)

Greg... haven't checked that other forum for a bit, but if interested I could do something quick in Jamstix and save as an audio file if you wish. If really interested I could seperate the drum instruments to seperate tracks as follows:
1 - kick
2 - snare
3 - toms
4 - cymbals .hihts
5 - ambience

Thne you can process however you wish...

Thanks for the offer, Darcy! I'm pretty stoked with the work androidlove has done so far, so I reckon he's the "drummer" for this collab. I for one don't mind at all working on a second mix, for the practice and fun of it all; however, androidlove's drum parts are destined to be the ones used on the version "released" (ie. posted at the Music Cafe. ;) ), so I would feel bad if you wasted your time and felt underappreciated, which wouldn't be my intention at all.

Not a problem...
And with respect to feeling underappreciated, I'm married with 3 teenage children so I have come to terms with being underappreciated.

Truer words were never spoken. ;)

Sounds like the deal. I don't have broadband at home but I can copy to CD and upload from work. I'm actually an accountant in the real world.

Cheers

Cool-- even without broadband, if you have a stretch of an hour in which you can tie up the phone line, it shouldn't take any longer than that to upload. :D Of course, the work option seems even better. ;)

An accountant, eh? And they say you people have no soul. Phooey, I say! Phooey! :D

It's all about mathematics. Music is simply a logical, structured progression which entirely suits my obsessive compulsive nature!! :hihi:

Actually I just love music with expression and feeling particularly guitar based blues. I have been doing a lot of recording recently of some jazz musos I know and have been getting more and more into it. They recently brought over Thom Mason (saxophonist) from USA for some workshops and a public performance which I recorded. Listening to him play is simply stunning - so much feeling to go along with his amazing technical ability. Makes me feel so humble just knowing I have actually recorded him. I'll put a snippet up on my web site soon.

Cheers

I went shopping today for a first guitar for my little cousin Dylan's 7th birthday.. ended up choosing him a second hand Peavey :D

Its a really nice guitar actually, in a different league to the rest in its price range.. I showed him the master volume on the little fender amp I got him, and (of course) he immediately wacked it onto 10 :hihi: but his mum's reaction was "it sounds quite good actually!" :o

I still say their PA gear sucks though :P

Peavey makes pretty good guitars. I have a Wolfgang Special Flametop US and my son owns a JF-1 EXP. I have been looking at teh HP Signature Series and they are pretty sweet but I can't see myslef giving up the Wolfgang.

The Predator is a pretty decent first guitar.

I have to agree with Greg... Stay away from Mel Bay...

Mel Bay? :?

<edit> Oh, I see! No, I'll be teaching him. (He won't even be my youngest pupil!)

Well that's good news, then. :D

The HP Signature Series guitar is wonderful-looking, though I've never played one.
