Ok...enough already...I see the error in my thinking. I posted my comment under the assumption that most people here were intelligent and tallented enough to realize that this is a forum for exchange about music and Tracktion not religon and other such subjects. Under this assumption I didn't believe that this forum was a place to insult people for their beliefs or lack there of. All in all I was wrong. I apologise for even bringing it up.

As I said before IIRs I thank-you for your help in finding a flanger to add to Tracktion. I actually found many cool VSTs at some of the sites your reply linked to.

So lets all just put our ideas of God and the answer to life the universe and everything away and get back to helping each other make music. :D

Dude, you're posting on an audio/VST/software forum with a sig that better befits a philosophy website :) It causes some controversy for some users and when they mention it, you post long and hard about the evils of religion. You enjoy it, that much is plainly obvious. If you wanted to be ignored or mundane around here, you'd have a dull sigline...
There are plenty of close held beliefs that can cause harm to others. Religion isn't sacrosanct in this regard.

Labels, the issue is labels. The mind likes labels and keeping things in boxes.

White good, black bad, religion bad, freedom good etc, etc..

Ron is somewhere near the mark (for once :hihi: )

So its failed and we should reject it. Anyway, our economic system was not designed by some benevolent altruist, it is designed to allow the rich to exploit the poor. You are VERY naive aren't you? :hihi:
naiv? me? pha! maybe i sounded like i wanted to defend the thing, but i dont. but i just dont think the things where supposed to be bad. that sadly does not hinder them to be VERY bad. I think i know about the fuckedupness of those things. but again, that does not hinder me from understanding where they came from. of course almost everything(if not everything) is a resoult of destructing and innovating nature. Evolution.

WOW this is crazy.
The bible says "There is none richeous, no not one"
Thats why God sent his Son. The odds of just one of the hundreds of phrophicies written thousands of years ago comming to pass, is the equivelent of having the entire moon covered with silver dollars 3 feet thick and you find the one marked silver dollar. As the nation of Isreal was scattered in 70 AD the bible foretold when it would become a nation again (1948) Against all odds a nation the size of the smallest state in the USA took on their enemies and defeated them and became a nation again

No, religion is belief in god.

If you want to turn this into a debate on semantics, then I would say you have this defintion wrong, at least the way the I observe the facts around me (to use your self-centered logic as stated in an earlier post).

Belief in God, to me, is defined as FAITH.

Religion is a set of rules, set down by man, to try to explain that faith in the best way they see fit.

When someone equates these two; the huge difference between FAITH and RELIGION; it indicates to me (again, using the logic that my own understanding of this is the right thing - like you stated before) that person has not experienced real FAITH. They may observe the wickedness of religion's doing, but they haven't experienced FAITH.

Now, back to the topic at hand...

Does anyone really use flanging effects all that much anymore? This is probably arrogant to state it in such a way, but when I hear flanging - I think of crappy guitar pedals from the late 70's.

It really is sad that people take the crap they have seen on the news and heard from others as a representation of all "religion". Extremists give everyone a bad name, on both sides of the coin.

I've seen things happen, people healed when science said no, and I've seen lives changed. I'm a Christian, and make NO apolagies for it, and I'm very mentally stable, thank you. Not mentally ill. And I'm very educated when it comes to the worlds' religions and their alternatives.

But here, that all doesn't really matter, does it? Does anyone really think that posting religious statements here will change anyone's mind. Speak your mind, yes. But not everyone who believes something different from you is "ill" in any way. I think that's where the offense comes in. Not that the opinion is there, but that it states directly that you are ill if you believe, and that speaks to many here.

I've never posted anythiing here without saying that I respect what others believe. But don't insult my intelligence by calling me ill.

It's all good though. This really isn't the place to discuss this, and yes I've added to it. But nobody is convincing anyone else. Pointless.
