Ugh, polished strings... ah well, each to his own.

only my very heavy gauge (13-56) strings are polished - on my other two electrics and on my acoustic they're not, however on my fretless bass they're as well... (while on my other bass-guitars they're not)Sascha Franck wrote:Ugh, polished strings... ah well, each to his own.

(b.t.w.: they tend to last much longer than normal strings because they're far less damaged by the frets...

not sure I get that jens, strings are harder or equal to frets, both are nickel...and I believe it's the frets that wear out more. Strings develop weak points eventually, but i'ts not as much from wear as it is from stretching and bending...in fact technically strings dont stretch that much.
