I saw chick corea with hot tuna and bobby and the midnights in springfield mass....assholes pulled the plug on bobby and the midnights right at 11:30...mid song....great show though...

I'll bet Weir's contract rider says they pay large amounts of money when they do that.

There's a really popular early-70's Dead tape, I cannot remember the date or the venue, but the house shuts the stage mains during a jam at the end of Morning Dew. The band keeps playing for a while, then stops when the crowd starts making pissed off noises. The vocal PA was off, but the guitars and drums kept working.

But that was THEN. These days, every last detail is spelled out in contract terms for well-managed roadshows. Things are specified like, the stagehands will be managed by an IATSE member, or there will be X number of electricians, or "no brown M&M's in the green room". Not pulling the plug during the show is something you'd write in there, or at least, have it in writing that the show shuts down at 11:30 sharp, to come at it the other way.

If they just pulled the plug without notice, I'll bet some people didn't get paid.
