Given that Sony haven't yet emailed the upgrade link from Pro 5 then is there any other way to get the decent price (esp. given I'm in the UK)??

I have't got the cash to upgrade yet, but it sure as hell looks like that's something i will be doing.

it f**king pops and glitches even when resizing track headers or the mixer. i uninstalled within 3 minutes after installation.

I'm liking the demo so far.

It works pretty well with Reason rewired, though I wish it were able to automatically combine the rewire audio channels from Reason other than the first two (unless I am missing something?)

Is there a way to send a bus to a bus?

Glitched on me until I chose ASIO driver. Then it was less glitchy, still a couple tiny pops.

But is the "inline editing" the only midi editor window available? Not impressed if thats the case.

I like the surround capability though. Nice potential there.

Got it to work, looks like it doesn't like the z3ta+ demo.

Well, looks like they've improved some major gripes I had with Acid 5

.

However, to really be able to use it efficiently, you have to have a big monitor. My laptop only has 1024x768, even FL has trouble with that

.

Other than that, the only nuisances (except that its not quite as lean as FL) are minor things that can be worked around ... I don't like the mixer, I would prefer something where you could actually, you know, move things around?

I found a wee glitch. The tabs for "track properties/audio plugin" etc don't always stay where you put them after closing down and restarting. not the end of the world, but will probably piss me off nonetheless cos i'm just that much of a pernickety twat.

Hi Munchkin,

Can you confirm that there's no C/R either on this latest boxed version? I had asked on the ACID forum but no reponse as of yet. With the addition of yet more N.I. bundled stuff, I'm concerned that there may have been pressure on Sony to make changes.

Also, FYI, someone at the Acid forum pointed out a vendor selling the boxed upgrade for $99. Looks to be constrained to the US only though.

I can't figure out how to have a bus in the mixer send to an aux effect bus - say I want to have a vsti synth send to an aux bus with a reverb on it....how does one do that?

Mmm, encouraging news.

I'm gonna listen to you bold first adopters debug it and deconstruct it for a bit longer, then try the demo for a coupla weeks.

By then, I might be able to afford to pay for it...

after uve added a bus or assignable efx bus, in yer mixer, a little blue box will turn up on yer tracks. click it, and it will give u options.
same goes for routing the buses in the mixer.

also, make the tracks view larger horizontally, and ull see a FX fader, where u can choose wich bus to send the track to.

finally acid have send.

A 3min demo,

your a bit too hasty. A little tidbit, for ya. ACID Pro 6 has a re-engineered optimized multi-threaded audio engine with dual/multi-core processor support. There are now basically (2) audio engine modes. If you are having pops & glithes, then go into the ACID Preferences|Audio Device tab and deselect (turn it off) the Enable track buffering option and click Apply
On my ol' PIII 1Ghz DAW, I got glitches, as well, when moving/resizing, tracks/windows too. I disabled the track buffering and it has been smooth, as silk, ever since.

You probably need to experiment to see which mode works best, with your particular DAW setup.
