ONLY one problem ,,,,some dns severs do NOT know you web site location, so it is hard to view the web site luckaly at home I have att but some services do not see the site.

Uhmmm....I'm having problems with 1.5. I tried inserting it into a project using 1.1 just to do a comparision, and maybe replace the 1.1 instance.

The track plays fine up to the same point everytime where suddenly the audio cuts out on the track. SX3 then soon gives a "save it now" warning and hangs up.

I've never had issues with this project before - anyone else had glitches with 1.5?

Did you rename the .dll or just replace the old plugin with the new v1.5?
Also is there any automation directed to freeamp?

Quite a bit has changed in the new version, including changing the routed CC#'s. Sorry for any inconveniance backward compatibility is an issue in SE, once too many things are changed.

Try inserting GreaseTube in front of FreeAmp (or any amp sim). It gives better feel and tone - and it even has a "tube" that glows brighter when you dig in! GreaseTube is the most tube-like thing I've tried in a VST, for tone and feel.

Yeah! All of Daniel's plugs have that ceratin something....I won't say "warm"
or "analog sounding" because I KNOW
some smartass will make a comment like
this:

"It will sound better if you look at the tube. Look into the tube..look into the tube... it sounds good...look into the tube....look into the tube."

So it uses a graphical representation of
a tube to show increased output, no different from a GUI that uses an "LED"
or "meter" and completely irrelevant to
how a plug actually SOUNDS...and this
plug sounds great regardless of how it
looks. Besides I happen to like the way
it looks too so...

Thanks I have little experiance with real guitar amps, bass amps is another storie Tried a few buddies marshall's some to me were great but one's like the JCM2000 did not do much for me? tried a triple rectifier that was amazing but at some setting was too fuzzy. IMHO
The best guitar preamp I have played with or recorded was from Stevens, still have big respect for that one

Will have to venture out to play some more, think I still have some learning there? but will

All the amps you mention are high gain and pretty crunchy
which is cool, I've owned Marshalls, Sovteks...and the
one I regret selling the most...an Orange. For heavier
styles its the way to go.

Sometimes tho, the best way to truly appreciate
the dynamic properties of a good tube amp is to play through
one with lots of clean headroom like an old Fender or Ampeg.
Some of these types of amps also feature other tube driven
treats like tremolo and spring reverb. I've yet to hear a
spring reverb emulation either modeled or convolved that
really nails it.

I agree with CapnLockheed - a good Fender or other pushed "clean" tube amp would be the way to get an appreciation for natural tube amp dynamics. The catch is that you will have to play them very loud (probably with the volume between 5 to 7) - hence the real need for simulation.

I still think that GreaseTube in front of FreeAmpSE (on a cleaner preset) goes a long way toward tube "feel". I have a modified Fender Champ, a Fender Princeton Reverb II, a Crate V15 (also all tube - I use it as my distortion channel) and I've owned at least half a dozen other tube amps, plus I have a ton of outboard tube gear like two different rackmount tube spring reverbs, a ToneBone classic OD (I did own the Hot British version, but that was too hot for my uses), two of the old H&K Tubeman pedals, and the first tube OD - the BK Buttler Mini Boogee (that's really how it is spelled) and I think GreaseTube is more "tubey" than all of the tube pre-amp pedals I have as far as guitar is concerned. It has the right attack and the tone opens up in a very tube-like way. Use a fairly clean setting on GreaseTube - it can fart out.

My main amp sim setup (screenshot in this thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... &start=120 ) uses GreaseTube, two instances of SimulAnalog's JCM900 in parallel (one on the clean channel and one on the drive channel), and Voxengo Boogex with a Fender BlackPanel impulse along with three instances of Kjaerhus Audio Classic Compressor and other Kjaerhus Audio Classic effects and it really nails tube feel and tone IMHO - and GreaseTube seems like the main secret ingredient to me.

FreeAmpSE with GreaseTube in front sounds promising, too - but I think I will have to go through and make all of my own presets. All of this reminds me of another feature that would be nice to include - something like the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive where the overdriven signal is mixed back with a clean signal (kinda like what I'm doing with the two instances of the SA JCM900). That way you have saturation AND definition.

Absolutely friggin' monsterous! I find envelope filter/followers can add some of that touchy/feely je ne se quois that's

guitarzan that is one really cool setup I will have to try it also! will have to test FreeAmpSE with GreaseTube too, I dig all of Danial's stuff, wish I had some of them in SE modules to work with Really dig his octaver best I have ever placed before an amp-sim
Oh boy Huber and Breese and Guitar Center ain't going to like me too much over the next few weeks\month's guess I have some amps to go check out! how their clean response reacts when cranked a little

DL'ed it Tuesday and played with it for an hour or so. Excellent tone and flexibility, IMHO. I still need to monkey with it to get where I want to go, probably with some other FX in the chain, but it's definitely staying in the plug-in folder.

BTW checked out the tune! real cool, bit live but nice stuff.
And Yep! Danials Ocatave plug has a nice raw sound of its harmonics Much better then using a pitch shifter for the guitar IMO

You need to go to Tin Brooke Tales Software Projects site: http://hem.bredband.net/tbtaudio/ to get the login info and address for the ftp server where the older files are kept. It's on the top of the page. I'm not sure why he's got it set up that way, but last time I checked I know GreaseTube was still there, anyway.
