yep..agree with beergeek that they REALLY need a forum.

Having a forum in this age of the internet is really important and good for the company as there's alot of good (and bad) feedback that comes out of it that could be a tremendous help for IK for planning future products and making current ones better, SO...it should be more considered as a support tool for the operation rather than a P.I.A. I've already sent a few tickets on various issues and I'll tell you that doing that does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling that someone is listening..it's like yelling in a canyon and waiting for the echo to come back. There's a reason why KVR has over 100,000 members (and other popular forums as well). Because we simply like to interact with each other. Basic sociology at work here...nothing complicated.

TBH - I'm surprised they don't have a forum up & running already. I've set up 2 vBulletin forums myself and it took me about a good 1/2 day or more to set up the basics with a few categories, announcements, etc.

SQUIDS - my 2 cents here - you need to get the IK Tech folks involved here as this is going to benefit them more than anyone. Things are going to be dead slow at the beginning until more folks get wind of the forum and then you'll have the likes of us who will be visiting the forum on a regular basis and other folks that don't visit KVR, but will visit IK Forum - from there, the Tech Guys can approach any of the active members to become a moderator. Some folks would be interested in Miroslav and not Amplitube, so those guys will only be interested in moderating that specific forum. I really can't see anyone better than nominating a couple of IK Tech guys that are familiar with these types of forums (you included), to kick it off. Once things get rolling and more people sign up and create threads, then you can take it the next step. But it won't help talking about it...let's get the ball rollin' and deal with the road bump when we get to it.

Anyway...that's my 2 cents. ;)

Cheers....

There's a coupla yahoo groups that could be incorporated, ldragasoni (Brett) runs one and I think he'd be a good candidate for a moderator.

But I'm sure Jason will be there and Squids and i'm sure that the PTB (powers that be) at IK will be lurking ;-)

for anyone having ST 2.2 installation issues, most notably when it issues you with a -6001 warning, it's actually an InstallShield issue not an IK/SR issue. Delete the following folder from your computer and attempt to run the installer again:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\0701

PS. Same issue is raised for the Amplitube 2 installation and any forthcoming installations incorporating InstallShield, I would assume. Haven't a clue what causes the issue and how deleting the directory resolves it - but I've got everything up and running smoothly now from the above action. :)

Scroll wheel is not working for me in LE 7.1. Sounds do load very fast though.

From my testing, on a Mac anyway, the scroll wheel only works in the AU version, not the VST version.

Thanks a lot, that resolved my issue.

no worries, dramsenik. For a second, I thought I must be the only one experiencing that problem! :)

BTW Squids, are there any further big plans to the ST engine, I know that you wanted the engine to be able to trigger other patches/samples (to make use of those release samples that SS2 has), any other big things in the pipeline, or is it just going to be consolidating the Miroslav and Studiophonik features into the engine? :)

Thank you so much for that InstallShield Fix! I have been cooresponding with IK customer support for almost 2 weeks and they hadn't found a solution.

Really? Has this update been out two weeks already? Time flies! Oh by the way, that's odd because IK customer support is where I got the tip. Perhaps there was a fluke in communication for you. It is not normally like that.

I've installed SampleTank 2.2 and it works great... "Feels" more stable some how and is quite a bit quicker. Very handy since I use it live, where stability and speed matter. It would be nice if a multi could be loaded up with midi program changes, is that possible?

For live-use I strongly recommend the host Brainspawn Forte. Mark Kelly of Marillion uses it live. It's truly great.

Thanks very much for this head's up. I can't wait to get home and give it a try. Seems their own people have been having trouble figuring out what was going on. Glad you may have solved it!!!
