mackie, enough with haggling over the price and marketing of the bundles already! let's upload this to the website and get goin' for christ's sake. c'mon, let's go!

most of us are not going to buy this product from the pages of sweetwater or musicians friend anyway. we just want the download. you can waste your own time with the marketing package bundles and all that crap after you upload the core product to the website.

seriously, this is out of control. i'm convinced that the problem is marketing and that the dev team are pretty pissed off right now about the hold up. ..or not. i could be wrong. in which case, i'll get drunk tonite and smack my momma.

Seeyeeusly, though-- just because many KvRites prefer a download version doesn't mean that a boxed version for the shelf isn't an important marketing move. There are still plenty of people who go to buy software at their local Guitar Centre or whatever. And they like boxes. Boxes with stuff in them. Including options. Optional boxes with stuff in them!

Problem being: The employees at the stores in Ottawa at least (and I've heard from other KvR members it's the same in their locale) don't know much about it and don't pimp it. With a nice beautiful T2 box sitting there, I heard a Long and McQuade employee recommending that someone go for Cubase Studio Box instead. <shakes head mournfully> The Studio Box is one of the biggest misses in the history of the recorded arts.

Mackie needs some sort of marketing toward the stores just as much as they need marketing toward individual end consumers.

I'll have to agree with Lunch Money here - it's important to *also* have a boxed product for the shelves of music stores, but it's worthless to have it there if nobody knows about it! I know a *lot* of people that won't buy download-only stuff because "you don't get everything you need" (ugh).

Maybe a T3 kiosk of some sort?

only time will tell if mackie ever taken seriously. i'm afraid the marketing department have gagged beno, sold jules, injected a robot team of devs into the mix and are now having their way with the anus of this product as we sit in wait for it's grand arrival.

i fully expect it's makeup to be running, it's hair all in disarray and a shoe to be broken. but it'll be smiling and everyone will be saying; "it's here! it's here!". lol.

this is out of control. a package of plugin is NOT (contrary to what you may think) important to most of us. waste your own time mackie, after you set up a plan for us to buy and download the core product from the website. please! it's been "soon" for long enough.

with all the extra time the dev team has had with this version, it'd better be bullet proof. with a "team" of devs now and such a large base with which to draw beta testers, this thing should be able to take a salvo round to the turret and live. i just can't believe what the marketing team has done to our cozy little tracktion world.

i'm kinda mad. but not really because it's just computer stuff. i've got so much more going on with life than with computer equipment. but when it's audio, it's on the computer lately. so it's a touchy thing for this one.

It all just kind of passes me by these days.

ok, i'm done with beer. everything is hunkie-dorie. good to go. all systems go. i don't care what mackie does now. as long as we don't have to buy a bunch of crappy plugins and a boxed version. otherwise, i'm sticking with my version two, until it's no longer useable.
