So to recap: AVG causes slowdowns except when it doesn't. Jamstix and StompBud can exacerbate slowdowns unless AVG isn't causing any in which case they're likely fine unless they're not.
At the moment, only Intakt is slow to load... a whopping 9 seconds! Oh no!
Slow VST Scan - Jamstix or StompBud owners please help me!

I just did a complete scan, with Jamstix included and AVG running, and the scan lasted only 3.5 minutes. And that included a couple of plugs trying to find their sample libraries that are on a drive that's not connected and I have to tell it not to look further.
So I don't know that it's AVG only, but rather different circumstances.

Maybe it's a combination of:
1) Plugins that load big libraries
2) Way too many plugins
3) Antivirus (may or may not be AVG)
How many VSTs do you have, Brent? My first 100 or so would always load pretty fast. Yikes... first hundred or so... Now it's time to do a scan for unnecessary plugins!

I'm loading the JamStix plug w/o any measurable additional scan time.
