Well by first the idea was to do XY patches but knowing that many skip the XY settings when browsing patches i thought it might be better to put in as much as i could into the Modwheel/Velocity/Aftertouch and leave
XY setting to patches where its really needed. So yes i try to go a bit beyond the normal modulation options and provide a radical change to a patch if its possible thru using modulation. Btw. the pad is named Cinematix :)

So make sure you have a VERY good smooth responsive controller keyboard ;) My pref. is Novation ReMote 37 SL

When i made that patch named Brass Soft i realized it had a feeling of Toto's Africa to it so i played the theme. If i was to play something Rosanna like i would prolly use the Pop Brass Hard which has more growling to it.

Mmm that's what I thought you're that guy who programmed incredible layered sounds in Substractor... I see that experience is reproductible from one synth to another. Great work.
Ok i'll stop all the patch making right now, nah the thing is i'm kinda twisted in my head when it comes to making music and find it very hard to settle for a certain genre. Making sound design dont put the same amount of restraint on me since i can move freely, but in a sense i really should get back to song writing at some point.

Glad you like my work on the Subtractor :)

It goes without saying that I'll buy this collection when it's ready. Zebra2 is quite amazing, but pushes a bit beyond my skill at making presets. These are really excellent...

Yep! :tu: :tu:

A little bump with a 2:23 Min demo of 5 patches in a kinda movie style, its a DRY mix meaning Zebra only.

First part is a string and a wood like instrument
Second part is a flute like instrument which can modulate into something very different, a male voice and a african like arp.

I think i have about 20 patches to go and then a 128 patches bank should be ready. :)

Very nice melody there.

One of the best sound sets I've heard!
Keep up the good work!

Thx Howard, and incredibly simple.. its only 1 FMO using delay, EQ and reverb :)

Making symphonic scores using Zebra would be quite a challenge. Would love to see a classical soundset :)

Peter.
Nopes, but we're getting closer every day ;)
HunterKiller wrote:BTW, did you make MIDI files of these examples?
Nopes, these are Cubase Projects. If i made them into MIDI it wouldnt be quite the same.
In oldskool example 01 (the jazzy one) i use a patch named lead creator which i modified using the XY option. If you
were to load a MIDI file of this arrangement you would only get the default lead creator sound.

Same thing goes for the oldskool sequencing example where i use a String with XY settings.

But if you name me Which of the demos you would like to see as a MIDI file then i could experiment a bit.
