Holy Sh$t. Now that is some clever f-ing use of this sample. Damn. Shy that is amazing sounding. Are you using the rolls in there too? How did you do this?

Ok, here is a very quick demo using Snare 19. This is thrown together rather quickly, and is only to showcase the sound of the snare, so there aren't any other instruments. The kick drum is also a Steven Slate drum. It's Kick3.
The snare has a small bit of the Z4 ambience added in. The rest of the drums are Jamstix.
I have also used some subtle mappings of the snare rolls, but they are probably not really apparent until the end.

By the way, I am noticing a couple of times where the snare sample seems to cut off. I think this is due to me messing too much with the Jamstix mapping and Kontakt. Also the ending is abrupt. Darn it all!!! It wasn't happening earlier, so it must be something I changed at the last minute. It's late and I'm almost off work, so I won't be changing it. It only happens a couple of times though.
I'll do more demos later with a bit more care taken.

Ok, another quick demo. Still all the same drums, but the patterns aren't generated by Jamstix.

Just some various patterns, nothing special. I just wanted to add a little bit more of a simple example without too many frills on the pattern.

Hey, I like the second one, koolkeys!
Wonder why the first ones were getting cut off? Is there a polyphony restriction somwhere in Jamsitx?

I'm not sure. It's actually Kontakt2 subhosted inside of Jamstix in both cases. The second one just wasn't using the Jamstix brain, just plain MIDI. So I'm thinking that it had something to do with the mapping in Jamstix having more than one piece set to a note or something. But it seems like it was retriggering the notes. I will go back through later and try to find what was going on. But the second one just had regular MIDI without any extra accents thrown in.

sounds great Brent! really good stuff, cool patterns too. I love the subtle amount of Z4, gives it a nice depth.

Yeah, having the ability to use whatever amount of ambience you want is great. I wish the first demo came out better. My fault though.
This makes me want to dig out the MIDI drum loops I created earlier this year.

I spend last night converting those waves form 24 bit to 16 bit. Then I imported them all into 3 soundfonts; one for the Z1, one for the Z3 and and for the Z4 sounds.
I'll try to make some song from it.
