yes i think it will be released MESSE for the biggest publicity, i actually think most awaited updates such as imposcar 2, mini moog 2 etc will be released then but hey we are only slaves to the industrystandalone wrote:sureno wrote:K3.5 is long long overdue they seem to be really dragging their feet with it, so if you are using it to develop banks vir2 it cant have that many issues can it? meaning they put it on hold for the NAMM 09 releases... libertythe Kontakt 3.5 engine, which is vital to how MOJO works.
but it could also be a genuine complication, who knows
And MESSE ? . It's in beta ( well , back in beta ) since a couple of weeks .

i know, but you're in position to check if the bug is still there ... i don't own kontakt, i just had to work a lot with it in a studio where i was booked as a sounddesigner, as you work with the new engine, that's why i asked ...vir2 wrote:Which delay bug?
We are not involved in the support of Kontakt itself, so the question is better directed at NI through their support or through their forum, however, we're curious to know since it may affect us too, and we can help get the message to the right channels.
the bug is easy: they only take the input signal for the delay from the left, rather than summing it up mono. this leads to the fact, that, if you spread the delay so that it's ping pong, you can't pan the dry signal to the right, as the delay is then gone completely ... so, whenever you use the delay in ping pong mode, you can't pan the dry signal to the right, as the delay doesn't get any input then ... it's such an easy thing to fix this bug, it takes 10 minutes ... and as there's a beta round for 3.5 anyway, i think it's really embarrassing for ni if they were still not able to fix this little but annoying bug since v1 ...

got another 2 bugs and one annoyance in kontakt:vir2 wrote:Confirmed that bug, and reported to NI.
- fx phaser (not filter phaser!) lfo works only on the right channel. pan the dry signal to the left, you'll hear static phasing, pan it to the right, the phasing is moving. this is due to the lfo not working on the left channel ... another nogo (though no bug) is, that the phaser has no adjustable center frequency ...
- the phase parameter of both the chorus and the flanger isn't stored or recalled correctly. setting the phase to 90 degrees, store the nki, reload the nki, paff, the phase is initialized ... the knob stays correctly on the saved position, but the parameter itself doesn't, you have to click on it and change only one value, then it audibly jumps where it has to be ...
- no bug, but really extremly annoying: the algorithmic reverb (not convolution, i never use this) pans with the input signal. that means: input mid = perfect stereo reverb, input left = reverb left only, input right = reverb right only .... absolute nogo, you can't lfo-pan any signal, it sounds completeley unnatural, as the reverb moves with the input signals panning ...
to me that are bugs/unnatural behaves that are extremly annoying and prevent me from buying kontakt, though i really wanted do do this since i had the pleasure work with it in a studio where i'm booked often for sounddesign ...
these, and the delay bug are really easy to solve, it would take the programmer 10 mitutes for all of those ... and some of those bugs are present since v1 ... what i do not understand: what are the betatesters actually doing??? i won't purchase kontakt until these bugs are finally ironed out ...
though i badly want kontakt, as otherwise it's the best sample out there, as it gives enormous modulation possibilities to the user, which is what i want, i'd basically use kontakt more as a synth than a pure sample playback machine, and there's simply no software that combines this to the same degree as kontakt does ... it's a shame ... well, i can wait ...
