Consider VB3 works on Receptor, it only is lacking the Single/Multi/Snapshot recalling function, so i think it could be a snap to Muse to solve this.
Why not?
It's shrouded in mistery...!!!

as it seems, Muse Research has no interest in supporting VB3 for the Receptor, so I'm sorry to disappoint you, friends, but I won't be bothering any more trying to find out what's causing the crash we're discussing here.

VB3 is a plugin for Windows. Receptor is not Windows. Sorry.

Guido.
Hi Guido,

I'm just reading this thread. How did u conclude that Muse Research has no interest in supporting VB3!! Infact we love your plugins and will be happy to help you.

I just briefly tried the demo version on my test receptor and here is my proposal:
1. For the current users (running vb3 using unsupported method), go to the SETUP page and enable zload. Instantiate VB3 once. This will allow you to load VB3 single and multi patches without crashing. The source patches work as expected. This will be a workaround for now.
2. When we support VB3 on DI (which should happen soon), i'll see if i can come up with a permanent solution.

Hi Farhan,

Thanks for giving this attention - We appreciate your efforts.

I have not been able to load singles/multis under vload without crashing. doesn't seem to matter whether vload is switched-on before or after VB3 is instantiated. Loading a multi with VB3 typically reboots the host. Loading a single typically hard-freezes the host (need to reboot).

I'm using Receptor Pro with OS 1.7

Try these steps:
- enable ZLoad from SETUP page
- Instantiate VB3 (instr)
- Go to Single from the Mix View and load a VB3 single

Does it load? You may want to create a new single. Apply the same to Multis.

Hi guys,
on my Receptors too (both two units Rev B os 1.7) Vb3 1.21 crashes in either singles or multi load up with Zload enabled.
Is there any f....n' VstMonitor like plugin there at Muse working on Receptor and worth to be sent to Mr. Guido-Soundfonts?
Are we asking for the moon?
Ciao,

Sure, so patient i bought a second unit and still have my Receptors on the rack instead selling them.
I apologize if i was a bit tactless, just supposing Vb3 crash thread is simple to be solved with minimal support, but i'm only a (proud) Receptor user.

Quick update:
I found the bug and have proposed the solution to Guido. We should have this wrapped up soon. Again, thanks for you patience.

Thanks to you for supporting and going through users and bugs!

Three cheers for Farhan!!

I (and I'm sure others) appreciate the 'extra support' on getting VB3 working!

Hi all.

Now that it sounds like this VB3 thing might be close to getting sorted out, I have a couple of questions:
1. How does VB3 compare to B4II, soundwise? I saw Soundsmith's post about being able to change the presets for the 2 manuals separately. But what about the sound?
2. Not to change the subject (although I'm about to change the subject) but does Milestone work on the Receptor? I was just whining in another thread about the lack of wind synth models when I looked at the Soundfonts.it website and saw. Does it work? What's it sound like? How does it compare the the Yamaha VL stuff?

Thanks for your replies.

VB3 1.21 sounds awesome to me.
Consider i'm not a big fan of B4II, anyway i'm from two real Hammond Organs with mechanical leslies, Pari K61 tonewheel organ, old Korg Cx3, new korg cx3, Roland Vk7, Voce V3, Emu B3 card for Proteus 2k series, Dynacord cls222 analog leslie emulation, HK Rotosphere...
VB3 1.21 is worth the money, download the demo and, if you like it, buy your licence.

VB3 destroys B4. I love it so much I have just spent £2400 on a Hamichord organ with VB3 installed. I sold my XK3 because this is far better IMO, I can't wait to run it through my Leslie. I have tonewheel Hammonds and I love them, but I am very happy to be using VB3

Here's hoping the Italian truck strike has'nt dented my hopes of it arriving by Friday :/

Thank you Farhan for sorting this out with Guido, I will still use VB3 on my receptor for rehearsals and gigs where i am just playing many sounds and the Hamichord is overkill.

:) :) :) :) :)

Hmmm, I'm not sure about VB3 "destroying" B4. I tried it, and wasn't as impressed as I expected to be, to be honest. It seemed a bit clumsy to use, and didn't sound incredible to me. The white noise in the demo made it impossible for me to test live, so I haven't bought it yet.

I'll give it another go when Receptor compatibility is confirmed, and hopefully I'll dig it, but saying it "destroys" B4 is a pretty major exaggeration, IMO
