Yeah Jorgen, why don't you give that back to us (yes, I say US, because I think nearly nobody who posted here the last year didn't mention this!)
Can't be that hard and IMO should work well together with the existing solution!

Hi All,

This is my first post here, but I have been using energyxt since it was massiva.

This probably fits in with step sequencing, but what I would really like to be able to do is compose midi parts without the need for any mouse interaction (mouse kills the flow). This is one of the things that makes the FT2 tracker so handy is that you can hammer away at the PC keyboard and build parts very quickly in non-realtime.

Thanks for all of your hard work over the years.

I just select what i want to loop and press shift + Enter and it automaticly loops the selected patterns.

If you want to loop from start to stop just hit ctrl A to select all and then shift + enter.

It works when you want to loop a short part. But when you ("live") recorded a 5 minutes sequence and want to do some editing on it, a couple of bars at a time, you'll need to keep zooming in and out to catch the beginning/end of the part or the previously selected loop and drag each side. Believe me, it's a gigantic PITA. Actually it's stopping me to use eXT2.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

I want to have switch to fulscreen mode in energyXT2 (like for example in Renoise). In fulscreen I can easier focus to creative process, feel "deeper in music", can forget that I'm in that damned Wind**s... Small feature maybe, but makes big difference for me.

Siegfried: Set your startbar to auto-hide? Only takes you half-way, but xt's title-bar is very un-windows-like as it is, already ;)

Did anyone already suggest warpmarkers on audio tracks?

If not: I did now :D

I think something in between the XT1 and XT2 system would be better.
I didn't like much the loop/position bars on top of another in XT1 since I was often clicking the loop bar, and unwillingly changing the loop setting, when I just wanted to change the play position.
IMHO ctrl+left click and ctrl+right click for setting the loop would be a good solution.

1. Non-destructive splitting of midi clips

2. SEQ19 (improved loop / multitake recording and comping )

3. (Stolen from the manual of my other host)

"To Select a Portion of a Clip:
Press and hold the Alt key.
Drag the mouse across part of a clip.
You can edit this portion of the clip
using all the normal editing commands."

4. Import of tracks from other eXT songs

5. A shortcut to move the cursor to the beginning of selection

6. A scrub tool would be nice
Sonar, Tracktion, eXT

Yeah, Branis you're right.

And what I said in my previous post here:
kirtap910 wrote: ...IMO should work well together with the existing solution.
was bullshit, since we now do only have one area in the timeline and left click right now sets the song position.
I like it though, that there is only one area in the timeline and I don't want this to be changed back to how it was in XT1.
Therefore there must be a differentiation between setting the song position and setting the loop markers.

I personally would prefer double left and right clicking to set the loop markers (so there would not be the need to use the computer keyboard), but I guess double right click is not everybody's taste as it is quite uncommon.
Or using the middle mouse button to set the song position and single left and right click would set the loop markers.

Übercool it would be to have this user configurable.
Something like this:
For all three possibilities (Set song pos, set left loop marker and set right loop marker):
1) Being able to select the mouse button which should trigger the action.
2) Being able to choose if it should be triggered by a single or double click.
3) Being able to specifiy an optional keyboard modifier.

I think this way everybody could be made happy.

What do you think?

IIRC this was already discussed earlier, but maybe it's time to do it again.

@Mods: Feel free to split this off to a new thread or to start a vote...

Cheers,
Patrik

That would do, no doubt.
