Ok, back to the skin-discussion:
I posted a few examples of what I subjectively like. That included some very simple interfaces that don't try to emulate hardware.
Those are pleasant to use, look nice and are eady to create.
I would probably like one of those as a standard theme and have the plug-in supporting user created skins.
That would mean the least effort on behalf of the programmer.
Ableton kicked off the trende that is followed by the examples from Novation and Knufinke which I included in my initial post in this thread.

I apologize to Lennard for my part in this thread disintegrating and for any negativity that has befallen his great product or company. I've deleted my posts and removed any links. I would appreciate anyone else who quoted me doing the same, but that's entirely up to you.

One could remind people of all the very strange things you said at the time in this infamous thread: threatening with malicious code...insulting other developers...insulting users...insulting mods. But then again: that is history, you came back, fine! But obviously you haven't learned much from this past experience. You still have a personal go at Meffy about this old story - who by pulling the plug at the time did the only reasonable thing. Then I saw the post with the screen shot of the gmail convo with Lennard and I thought that was kind of a sleezy thing to do. He could have just said he had his permission, didn't have to show it.
And then... a little bell went off in my head. I recognized nebulae's Earth-name.
So I thought... while we're posting pictures of emails, I've got one to share too!
Proving yet again, KVR is where the crackers are. (And of course, where ELSE would they be? The legit users are here too, of course. But the ones who get all vocal and defensive... well, you have to ask yourself why.)
Oh and Hskovlund. I'm not particularly impressed by credentials of any kind, but good for you and your degree. I love MUSIC. I have HAD another career of doing things I don't particularly love, but had no power to keep a stupid boss from doing stupid things and flying the company into the ground.
I actually do this FOR my mental health.

I don't have a lack of customers Doc, I have a lack of PAYING customers. This whole thing was yet another perfect example. (And frankly, while I don't totally suck as a musician, I make better synths than I do music. I'd never claim to make the best music in the world. I do the music for me. If I had a day job (and I'm looking for one) that means no more synths and effects for the potential customers and crackers alike. It's not something that can be done at a spare-time hobby level (well, it is but you've seen what those "products" are like.)
I had a day job for 6 months last year, you know how much time that left for AQ? None, except for answering emails. But certainly no coding.
I'm coding right now though. (I usually am when I'm on KVR. Gives me something to do to break the monotony of incessant code/compile/test cycles.) Wish I could tell you what I'm working on as it's another truely unique implementation of a vintage classic, maybe in a week or so...
