One question about the round-robin. Is the round-robin scripted so that the same sample isn't played twice in a row even if you play different notes?

At first I was hesitant to say due to legal issues with naming brands, but I think since this is just a forum, not like I'm writing this on the product page itself, the bass is a Schecter Stiletto Elite with EMG Hz pickups and active EQ. I've been playing this particular bass for a few years, and love it a lot!pekadan wrote:So that's a secret then, huh?I wrote:Congrats on the release Greg! *Very* exciting!! Can you say something about the bass guitar that was sampled for CoreBass: Cherry?![]()
I think I've got it figured out. It's amazing what you can do with Kontakt scripting.bduffy wrote:Nice. I don't know how the hell you'd do that, though...![]()
Looks like it's on to sampling the next thing. No rest for me!

If you play three notes in between, and then the original note, you'll be back on the original sample. Though with 4x round-robin you really don't run into that often; it's much more of an issue if you are only cycling between two samples.Architeuthis wrote:One question about the round-robin. Hi Greg.
I love the sound of this bass on those mp3 demos. Unfortunately I don't have Kontakt
Are we likely to see something of this quality appear in Manybass in the near future?
Also, what did you use for the drum sounds?

I'm not sure time-wise, but Paul and I have been talking about about that.dickiefunk wrote: Are we likely to see something of this quality appear in Manybass in the near future?
The drum sounds are all Addictive Drums.dickiefunk wrote: Also, what did you use for the drum sounds?

The Bass samples in ManyBass are from the same Bass that Greg used for this new Cherry Bass. So the Quality and Tone is very similar.Gregjazz wrote:I'm not sure time-wise, but Paul and I have been talking about about that.dickiefunk wrote: Are we likely to see something of this quality appear in Manybass in the near future?
What is missing is the scripting that is available in Kontakt. We are however working on designing a new Engine that will support some of the things needed to do Round Robin, Release samples, Legato, and other Sequencing tricks in the plug itself. It takes time but we are on it and Greg is still heavily involved, including being involved with the design.
Congrats to Greg for another Great sounding Library.

Excellent news! Looking forward to this! With these features implemented in ManyBass and ManyGuitar 2 Manytone has a bright future!manytone wrote:The Bass samples in ManyBass are from the same Bass that Greg used for this new Cherry Bass. Any idea timewise as to when ManyBass will be updated?

Sampling for the slapped version of Cherry has begun. The script is already finished, and there's some cool things in there I can't wait to show you guys! After that I will make the picked version.
Anyway, just thought I'd update you on the plan here.

Hi Greg,
will there be an upgrade path for slapped and picked for the existing Cherry users? And would it be possible to combine all the versions in one 'big super' Cherry bass then (for example with a key switch or a pull down menu for quickly changing between Cherry standard/Slapped/Picked)...?
Cheers,
TQ

That's something I haven't made up my mind about yet. Customers should definitely get some sort of special deal for all the Cherry samplesets bundled. (and then of course, a crossgrade to this complete bundle)tq wrote: will there be an upgrade path for slapped and picked for the existing Cherry users?
Yup, that's what I'm planning.tq wrote: And would it be possible to combine all the versions in one 'big super' Cherry bass then (for example with a key switch or a pull down menu for quickly changing between Cherry standard/Slapped/Picked)...?

Nice! What sounds did you use in Addictive Drums? Also what processing did you do to these sounds?Gregjazz wrote:The drum sounds are all Addictive Drums.dickiefunk wrote: Also, what did you use for the drum sounds?

G.jazz for a lot of different reasons but most of all...after watching your video demo
How about a set of midi loops/files? Something like Groove Monkeys for Bass.
Thought i'd throw this out since seem to have drifted off topic.

Pearl Masterworks kick, DW copper snare, 15" Sabian hihat, and Sonor toms. I turn off the hihat mic completely, since that's what makes the AD hihats sound clanky.dickiefunk wrote: Nice! What sounds did you use in Addictive Drums? Also what processing did you do to these sounds?
And I just put a little EQ (boost treble and bass a tiny bit) and reverb on after.
That's a good idea, I just need to figure out a good organizational method for the loops. Since they can be transposed and sped up/slowed down, the main thing I guess is style and whether or not they have swing (shuffle).MRT wrote:G.jazz for a lot of different reasons but most of all...after watching your video demo
