CoreBass: Cherry

Image
Concept:
Many sample libraries today feature extensively-sampled instruments, which use dozens of keyswitches and other controls to navigate through many articulations. While these sample sets can achieve a great amount of realism, it takes extra effort when sequencing them to take advantage of the various articulations involved.

I wanted to create a sample library that you can play directly through the keyboard, or just enter in the notes on a staff and have it sound realistic.

The result is high-quality samples combined with cutting-edge technology which "translates" MIDI input into articulations that a real bassist would use. This interpretive technology insures that whether you are playing the sample library from a keyboard or simply entering notes into the staff, the output will sound like a live bassist.

Features:
- 523 MB of 24-bit samples
- 4x round robin (no more machine gun effect!)
- Sampled down to a low B
- Long, natural decay
- Release tones
- Automatic hammer-on, pull-off, slide up, slide down articulations (intelligent legato)

Format:
Due to the extensive scripting, this sound library is available in Kontakt 2-3 format only.

Audio Demos:

Demo #1
Demo #2
Demo #3

(all audio demos were played directly from a MIDI keyboard)

Video Demos:

WMV: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/video/ ... Cherry.wmv
MOV: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/video/ ... Cherry.mov

Price:
$49.95, instantly downloadable purchase (479 MB compressed)
Kontakt 2-3 only

Woaw, sounds great !

And what a cheap price =).

I really dig the sound, perfect for Hip-Hop.

Need to think about it ...

Thank you! As I said, in all the audio demos the bass is played live through the keyboard. (in most cases with only one hand!)

I plan on making a video showing it played through the keyboard, since it's really intuitive and fun to play.

Hi there,

how big is the download of this one? And could you give us a bit background on who you are etc. - the website is a bit 'empty' still... ;-)

Best
TQ

P.S.: Sounds really great! Does the scripting work like Scarbee's Black Bass?

O.k., looking at your KvR profile cleared things up a bit, Greg... ;-)

Oops, sorry, that is a detail I meant to include. The download is 479 MB (compressed).

I'm in the process of writing content for the about page and main homepage, as the site is a bit 'empty' as you say. But I'll do a quick introduction for right now:

Some of you probably know me for my sample work with Manytone Music. I've been working with them since 2005. Products I've worked with Manytone on include the ManyGuitar and ManyBass, as well as individual sample sets such as the Ultimate Bass Kit, Manytone Upright Bass, and the recently released Manytone Fretless Bass.

I've also created samples for NUSofting, and done demo work for Kong Audio (ChineeErhu, ChineePipa, ChineeSuoNa) and 4Front (TruePianos).

It's very similar in terms of playability, yes. And it's also similar in that it takes advantage of Kontakt's incredible scripting capabilities.

O.k., bought it! ;-) Am I the first one...?

Might be an odd question, but why is this not announced as part of ManyBass?

The reason it's not part of ManyBass or ManyTone is that it's a Kontakt-only library. Kontakt-only due to the amount of scripting behind the samples. I'm also taking advantage of features such as round-robin sample cycling and release samples, which ManyBass does not support.

However, I am remaining involved with ManyTone--we have some exciting new products in the works!

Gregjazz I'm curious about the name Core bass - Cherry. Should we expect more Core Bass Fruit?
As always your demos are outstanding

Ahh, ok, I see ;) Well, I'm a Kontakt'er aswell as a ManyBass'er, so this is still interesting to me ;)

How long is the introduction-period btw? Doesn't say on the website.

Cheers.
