Thanks for the reply!

I'm one of the people who would definitely enjoy this plug solely for it's midi capabilities.

I hope the massive amount of feedback you're getting is not discouraging, it really is quite nice!

Is there a guide on how to setup the MIDI out on this plug with the Apple AIC driver? I use Live 7.012 in Leopard with AUs and would consider buying this software if I can use other sounds.

Hi,

please use the VST plugin in LIVE, here's a video on how
to do the midi connections.

This program is sweet midi out works in Live 7.0 xp. It is so cool to watch all those midi notes be recorded. The only problem I have is triggering the consequence from midi for instance I insert a midi track then load consequence I know I can just hit play and midi come out of it endlessly. How do I trigger manually from midi keyboard. When I set to midi control it doesn't seem like there is any order to it kind random do I hold the chord or one or two keys what is the range for controlling manually.
Just a side note I don't think this program really needs a bunch of built in sounds other than a basic play back lets face it the sounds are pretty crappy compared to plugins that were designed for one purpose. I guess to make it sell its got to produce sound not just midi.
I also want to applaud sugar bytes on this arp it is hands down the most versatile arp vst plugin by far the best. Perfect timing to because I have been trying all kinds of midi utilities and they are nowhere close to this bad boy fm8 from native has a fairly good built in arp as do other plugs but this one conquers all I have seen. From my testing I agree with a previous post about it being able to host other plugs a host within a host so to speak, but there might be compatibility issues and problems with stability. One other thing I would add is a midi import like sylenth 1 where instead of just playing up down or down up the chord you could trigger what ever order of notes from midi file.
sylenth 1 only allows a single 4/4 bar to be imported from midi . I can do 8 bars in consequence single notes but it is very difficult to do triplet note or offset notes swing function is just not cutting it. Like the song from the prodigy Narayan you can easily do the string piano part because it is straight pattern but the baseline has offset notes in between the grid notes. I think this might be a limitation of a grid arp. A manual override of the grid with 4 to 8 bar midi import capability would make this plug king. So it would trigger the progression from the range c1 or c4 etc in between hard to program natural rythmic notes and all.
Thank you for your effort and time put in on this amzing plugin.
The sleeper must awaken.

Hi Diggler,

thanks for your thoughts!

>The only problem I have is triggering the consequence from midi...

Play your own Midi notes with Consequence: Set "Select" to "Midi" in the
Chord Memory.

Let Consequence only play as long as a Midi note comes in: Set "Sync" to "Internal" in the sequencer controls section.

I've a question about the operation of this program.. Is this the type of program where you play with one finger and it will play back whatever is programmed or is it the kind of thing that responds harmonically, so, let's say you play a C chord, it will do it's thing within the C chord as long as you hold down a C chord and then if you change to an F chord, it does its thing with the F chord?? Any info appreciated, thanks...

Hi,

Consequence can play when you hit a midi note or it can
play constantly along with your host sequencer.

Consequence will play chords and sequences programmed in Consequence
or it will sequence/arpeggiate the chords you play with midi.

hope that helps,

This is awesome because only Consequence needs to run as a VST. Other AU synths can take the MIDI out from Consequence. Now I just need to figure this beast out before I buy it! =) :)

What is sent via midi besides the note?

Thanks,

Currently only MIDI notes are sent. In the future it will also be possible
to send a CC from the modulation track.

sounds nice :D Is there other modulations going on that work in consequence that won't work sent via midi.

this is a really nice plugin - useful, original. I don't mind its limitations apart from the midi - I definietly want to use my own sounds.

Updating the midi spec (CC output and each instrument outputing midi on a different midi channel) -that would make this really amazing.

Thanks for your work

I agree +1

Hi, sending MIDI on certain channels is not possible with the
vst plugin specification unfortunately. Otherwise we would have implemented that.

+1

+ a lock for the different lanes would be nice, so you can navigate the presets and keeping the chord progression, or the modulation lane,....
Would be especially usefull for the chord memory when you have it on MIDI, so you don't have to set it again after each preset change.

Then I also like to play the chords myself (not using a single key), so it would be nice to have a chord recon system, that would automatically trigger one of the 16 "chords" and transpose based on the root.
