Or common courtesy. NI contacted me personally asking me (politely) to edit my post and take down the scans, though Ben took care of it first. I would have done it anyway even if he hadn't, and I did remove my scans as soon as I got up and saw the message.

I really didn't know this issue of EM was not supposed to be released yet, as it wasn't marked with any info like "Post NAMM news", it just looked like any regular issue to me. In fact, many of the ads in the magazine said "See us at NAMM booth (x)" which led me to believe it was DEFINITELY an intended pre-NAMM release.

Had I known it wasn't supposed to be out I never would have posted. Please be courteous to NI and if you have a copy of the scan, don't post it.

It would be appreciated. It's certainly not Zircon's fault in any way, it was a screw-up way upstream, entirely unrelated to KVR. I can't think of much to add to what he already said about consideration for the guys at NI, except that it's instructive to turn the tables, see how I'd feel if it were my birthday cake getting pi- erm, ruint after a lot of preparation.

Give the NI guys a day to spring their news, even if the cat's out of the bag already.

This birthday present surprise mentality seems very old-fashion to me. So what if people know some information beforehand. From a marketing perspective it's probably better anyway, it doesn't get drowned in the flood of information coming from NAMM.

It's not going to make or stop anybody from buying the product. The product will most probably anyway not be available until sometime in spring, if not later. One day earlier or later news leak does not change any sales.

I agree 100%, the products that have been leaked or whatever you want to call it, are getting all the buzz. In the end it worked out for them.

Excellent point...the logic of marketing and promotion needs to be seriously re-examined..I'm convinced its the art of bullshit only - the sales results are not actually quantifiable.

I cant see how jumping the NAMM date would make even a microscopic difference to the level of interest around NAMM since thats the first chance people actually get to SEE the products.
