A quirky eurostyle techno track inspired by Kraftwerk.

http://soundcloud.com/oktipus/risk-elektroherz

Created in FL Studio 10
9 instances of Minimoog-V
Effects used : All DAW effects (Fruity Limiter, Fruity Reeverb, Fruity Parametric EQ) except for Izotope Vinyl for the intro.

The pecussion patches were banging the cpu, so I had to bounce them down. It seems only the percussion patches were causing the cpu overloading. Everything else behaves fine.

Do you all know that I hate aggressive spammers, don't you guys?

Here i got one.

Aggressive Spammer profile

I saw "her" in the Risk track (see above) and in the BjornChapman track submission in Music Cafe this month.

That "girl" only have one favourited track in "her" profile, which obviously was made by her boyfriend (if exist), or "herself".
"She" is copypasting the same message in each track that "she" stumble upon, without even to listen the track. I see this disrespectful to other musicians.

"awesome remix
I like your style, this really sounds great
You might try sending it here: http://www.facebook.org/people/@/210200512409862
They promote stuff like this. I sent mine in and they featured it. Maybe you should try it too.
<3 christine"

Obviously, with a girl pic and a girl account "she" can attract sexually more guys to check "her" profile and watch the unique track that there is.
So now you know how you can be a (in)famous in Soundcloud with this stupid trick, in case you are interested.

And if you want to see a proof about she is always copypasting the same message over and over. Go here

What a shame... :?

Have a good day :)

If you follow the Facebook link, it leads you to a website called (SUBLVL) sublvl.com (typical spammer, using a female avatar)

If you Google SUBLVL, you'll see they've been spamming SoundCloud for months with hundreds of accounts.

They've got a YouTube account where they're posting videos of songs and putting a link to go to download the songs on their site, which they don't have rights to offer.

Garbage like this is usually based out of India or China. Best thing to do is just report the spammers. Usually SoundCloud gets rid of them quickly.

@Fabrizio - nice track / The silent majority

Don't worry, already done, i never waste my time :)

And wow, from 710 followers to 850 in 3 hours, how people can be fooled that way...? :?

Have a good day man and good luck :)

EDITED:

The spammer profile has been suspended. ;)

I got an e-mail from Soundcloud staff. There is an option where you can set a profile as spammer.
I received also a pic as example so you can do it by yourself in case you find spammer profiles. (See the pink square)

Yup, definitelly they are getting famous... :hihi:

Have a good day guys :)

I know, my problem may sound quite funny because of my nick name, but durring my sound design with minimoog I have impression, the minimoog has lack of high frequency juicy noise... That's why I had some problems to create nice sounding snares and right now some spacy pads.

Is it your immpression too or rather is my lack of sound design expercience? Or both. That do you think?

Did you open the filter cutoff?
Did you raise a bit the resonance knob?
Are you using the white noise selector instead of pink?
Did you add a triangle oscillator with the noise for more punch?
Or feel free to use a EQ and raise the mid-high frecuencies.

Maybe it could be another problem. But i didn't too much problem with the snares. Although my track doesn't have snares :P
If you need something more, i will try to help you a bit more.

Have a good day SuperNoise. :)

Great suggestions; IMHO it has been very difficult to create anything like a "real" sounding snare, and even trying to make a gentle slightly resonant electronic sound has been giving me difficulties. On the other hand, when I try to create a supercharged 80's progressive rock snare sound with lots of gated reverb and compression, I get much better results. It has a pretty dynamic response too from what I've been able to come up with. The presets for percussion are garbage, am I the only one who thinks so?
:hihi:

I agree. Then again, so are the ones that I came up with so far.

Well, what i noticed about drum sounds is that they sounds a bit tiny and low.
We will need a big compressor to increase the volume.

There is also another trick to make a nice snare, or any other sound. Filters and layering sounds.

What i'm impressed is with the CPU usage. It reached 70% in my Quad Core. Maybe is because i used more of 30 instances at same time. :hihi:

Good luck with it Supernoise :)

I see that your experience is VERY similar to mine. So this is the Minimoog character.

To achieve any well sounding snare I had to use EQ with crazy settings in high frequences. Additionaly I had to use fast compressor to amplify the sound. I think, these are main reasons why original percussion presets are not so nice - you have to use additional DSP chain to modify the sounds.
Layering was not necessary...

This is great experiecne in fact. Wow! I have got big lesson here! Thank you!

I feel the same way every month so far that I have participated in this, haha. Before I never really did much more than put together some random sounds from whatever haphazardly arranged sources I could, then one day I found all the free VSTi's out there, and then one day happened upon this site. What an invaluable experience; I'm sure a lot of people could actually even find it applicable elsewhere in life ;)

If I may make a suggestion on the snare...

Crazy EQ settings anywhere can cause certain parts of the frequency spectrum to get phase shifted (well any EQ really) to where it may sound better, but it gains a subtle unsettling 'hollow' quality that is very hard to nail down. No amount of subsequent processing can really make it punchy again. This is why I might suggest layering, although I haven't tried to do so yet myself. That way you can put a high frequency drum on top of a low frequency one or something... you'll have to try it yourself, I'm a little Mooged out this month ;p

Thanks Irion and dwringer for the tips!

Good point Drwinger. So far I didn't noticed (or maybe I don't recognise) frequency shifts. Snare sounds enough good for me. But for future it is good to know. Thanks!
