Also--

Can anyone get Largo working in Plogue Bidule? I had it working earlier...at some point it stopped functioning. I have since reinstalled both Bidule & Largo. The AU plugin loads, but the VST doesn't show up in the browser. While the AU loads fine, I am unable to get any sound out of it.

Same problem for PPG Wave 3.

Also when Largo was working, it was not remembering presets in my saved patches.

wishing i'd bought a blofeld.

[edit] I'm on OSX 10.8.

This was already discussed earlier here a few weeks ago and like then i have to mention that Waldorf is focused at finishing the Pulse 2 at the moment.

Around a month ago they released an update for Lector that fixes issues with Cubase 7 and Logic X.

At their Facebook page it was mentioned that they want to update Largo by end of this year.

For the records i am using Largo (and also PPG Wave 3.V) in Windows 7 32-bit (inside Live 9 Suite) and have no issues at all.

For the records--I have had serious issues regarding stability & especially patch memory on both Windows & OSX in a variety of hosts, for years. My computer is very clean and well kept, and no other soft-synth that I own has suffered issues to the extent of those seen in Largo.

That doesn't have to mean that it is not a problem you have exclusively.

You are right, it doesn't _have_ to mean that is a problem exclusive to me.

However if you subscribe to the Waldorf list, or even follow a few threads on the subject here on KVR, you will see that the problems are not exclusive to my setup, and that in fact Largo has continued to suffer from a number of serious performance issues since it's inception.

Fair enough. Seems to be kind of a central theme for many of Waldorf's products. I read a lot about issues in the Blofeld software too.

Latest Blofeld OS versions (1.15 + 1.16) work nicely here.

Not as long as everyone is working on the Pulse 2...

I'll also have to confirm this myself before i report it. I have noticed that this post in that link is almost 2 years old so i'll have to check if this is not solved with OS 1.16 already.

I am using Largo inside Live 64 bit, and the bridging caused me a lot of headache. The latest version of JBridge completely ruined the CPU and I had to downgrade to a lower version to fix the problem. It is the only Vst I use that has issues. So, instead of promoting new products (although I hope this will result in supporting elder products), maybe Waldorf could update their synths.

Anyway, I wont support the company anymore unless there is a solution. If one could lobby for this, I d be grateful.

Largo update is planned for end of this year.

Anyway there are at least two points which will not make this an easy task:

1.) Wolfram Franke, one of the main developers of Largo and PPG Wave 3.V has left

2.) Transfer of a 32-bit plugin to 64-bit is not as easy as clicking on "make 64-bit", especially for Mac versions. For other developers this caused a complete rewrite of the plugin (or at least the graphics engine).

We have started a non-profit review and dsp analysis site.
