WilliamK quoth Yes, I know that some people are not going to like that, but again, if you own EVE, you get a full month free, in time to download the tool. So don't worry I would say. We are just trying to promote DashW further, that's all. Have you got your free subscription yet?
Not got Eve, its Knaglis I wanted it for.

William - let me get this straight. Because there are no restrictions on what soundsets etc i can get from the DashW site, even stuff released when i wasn't a member, does this mean i can just register for a month every now and again and get loads of soundsets etc for $29.95?!
If this is true then it is a great deal, but does this not worry you from a business perspective? Surely no-one will ever pay full price for soundsets when they can just get them dirt cheap by doing what i just said?
Maybe i'm missing something. I'm not exactly the sharpest tool in the box!

Actually, I will have to put a restriction on the system to avoid people doing that, now that you mentioned.

Way to go Doc Quincy!
Now my magazines will figure out I've only been buying sporadic copies to get what I want, and force me to a 5 year subscription now too!

You can sure say that again.Quincy wrote: Maybe i'm missing something. I'm not exactly the sharpest tool in the box!
I wrote: If I sign up now, and get what is offered this month (pay for one month only), and then I dont renew until 5 months from now (pay for one month only in July), am I then going to be able to "pick up" what i missed in between (March thru June)? Or, is this going to be somehow restricted to continuing memberships/members only?
William Wrote: There is no restrictions, so if you are only looking for the Sound-Sets, yes, you can do that. Altought, there is going to be so much stuff, that maybe is worth to stay as a member a bit longer.
So Wil, since you told me I could do this once, now are you backing away from what you said? I already "own" the complete package, and the "ONLY" reason to join up is to get the new sounds. Are you saying "now", that I CANT join in next month, and then again in 5 months, and pick up what I missed now?? You told me that I could do this just a page earlier- and I assumed it to be truthfully and correctly answered ...
Please advise and asap... I need to know these things, before I decide to sign up William. Let me know asap if your gonna crawfish on this one...
Thanks

Well, things change. I may or not may do that. Is all I can say, if you don't like, nothing I can do. I'm just protecting my work. Some people just want free stuff huh?spikey wrote: So Wil, since you told me I could do this once, now are you backing away from what you said? Is funny, I work all day long, and all I give is free stuff. Who pay my bills?

Then William, you should not have stated that you WOULD do this, unless you meant it. Going back on your own statements/word without some rectifying means of compromize is NOT the way to keep customers happy. And, how dare you accuse me of wanting free stuff, while by your own words and admissions they would be free , without signup restrictions at first!
You know this, and it does not matter if you goofed or not. Either stand by what you say, or you run people off. Now- up until now you have been upfront and did what you said you would do. Now- you are doing exactly what you should not do, which is to start blaming the user base (ME) for your own mess, you made, with your own above statements. Say you made a big mistake, and I for one would have more respect. But dont start saying we want things for free just because you stepped on your own crank here.

Your right William, things change, and there IS something I can do....
In fact William, just never mind about what you told me. Charge all you want to. Best of luck...Hope your protecting your work hasnt cost you dearly... But If your own words to me, here, cant be trusted or depended on, I want no part of this- at all. Keep your $29.00 a month worth of "free sounds", and I hope others will enjoy them. After all, you didnt change your tune with them either, did you...?
And Im sure by your last comments you could care less, but you just lost a customer, and any respect i once had for your honesty here.

Im right and you know it. Kiss his ass if you want to, but Im not. I expect a man to do what he says. When he doesnt, that shows me what hes made of.

Being honest also implies not trying to take advantage of the system as a customer.
Getting the same products as a full year subscriber while only paying two months out of the year would probably make the full year subscribers feel a bit ripped off.

I didnt say it, he did...
Dont blame me, I asked the SAME questions earlier, and was told no restrictions. Someone else asked after, and now theres restrictions. Taking advantage buy paying $29.00 is not taking advantage, when the owner agrees to the price. It is however taking advantage of the buyer, when you both agree on a price of an item, and then after the sale, OR at the last minute, the seller changes his mind. And, if the full year subscriber didnt figure this out on his own in the first place (sap), Im sure ol William would have been more than happy to refund the poor soul, right?

Yeah, I see your point. I guess at this moment, I am really just wondering what the policy will be moving forward, since I believe DashW.com is the only way to get sound sets for the Dash products. It might be difficult to come up with something that works well and pleases everyone in practice.

Its not hard to figure out, really... And there is an easy way outa this...
All William has to do, is state that he made a mistake by saying this. Be UP FRONT, instead of BLAMING it on all of us freeloaders
... And then offer up the first 6 months (or year) as he "FIRST" stated it would be (29 bucks/month- any signup time- no restrictions on downloaded sounds). After that, there is and will be restrictions.
Hey just a thought- and not for me either, as Im offically out of it. Its the "rest" of you who should be looking at this and making your minds up on the free sound packages and what they should cost you. Your choice if you want to pay more or do with less, than what was first offered with no restrictions...
Being smart about money making, versus being too greedy while covering a mistake made, are two different things...
