The fact that Diva's minimoog emulation features sync, waveform modulation, multiple FM destinations, LFO's, modulation transformers/filters, and you can switch in a multimode filter and other parts... Add that to the best minimoog emulation the internet has ever heard and it becomes obvious why it's mentioned in any synth* that threatens to be analogue sounding and "the only synth you need"

I feel I should also point out that sync really is a big deal for me, because not only can it make the obvious PEOWW leads, it also massively expands the amount of static waveforms you can create, from pseudo intervals all the way to dissonant spectra. A lot of my favourite synth sounds use sync and pitch modulation in very subtle ways.

Osc sync just sounds so good for certain sounds...

I guess that if a perfect hardware analog Minimoog clone were released today, it would not do so well... People expect such features as Osc Sync, Pulse Width Modulation, Velocity and Ring Modulation.

And NI invites ridicule for offering a synth with none of those things (and monophonic too) and saying it is the one synth you need... One really has to restrain oneself in the face of that claim

Simplicity is underestimated. The big mistake is thinking every synth has to do everything, especially when you are dealing with virtual synths that occupy no physical space. I can see why you would want a modern Hardware Synth like Dave Smith Prophet 12 to have all the options.

I am hoping that its more cpu efficent than Diva plus if someone owns Komplete I could totally see this as a reason not to buy Diva. I recently sold my copy of Diva and I am hoping this fills the whole nicely.

depends what you are after...i'd imagine diva being able to mimic the limits of monark but the reverse would not be true

Mine is set to show up Monday. NI is often good about getting these things in our hands on or before official release date, at least in my experience. Yay!

I agree but I don't mind the limits personally. I sold Diva a week ago because I felt I had way too many synths that I was not using. Diva is great sounding but the cpu hit bothers me even though my computer can handle it. I would rather have the cpu free for more fx. I am hoping this is more cpu friendly. I still feel Diva is the best synth on the market though I just don't think i need the best to make good music.

I think "cash in" or at some point they will tell "now we are giving you something for free(and make it poly)" is role here. IMHO people are insanely stupid if they think otherwise. Even so, this is fully open Reaktor ensemble and it is a matter of time when some user will take it and make poly out of it.

I don't think there is one person saying the synth has to do everything. Nobody is asking for digital oscillators, sample loading, wavetable oscillators, dozens of filter types and so on.

Well, everyone will decide for themselves. It is unlikely I will be interested in such a limited synth. Someone else will think it great for their needs.

I really like what I hear, but I really hate the fact that it's wrapped into reaktor. The reaktor interface is so annoying, I want a simple vsti window please. I don't get it, why are they releasing it like that?

me too i'm put off by the lack of features (without sync and cross mod i can't live).
and also i find absurd the lack of a poly option.
adding at least 6 voice poly switch to the back panel would not cause anyone any harm.
if someone has a cpu powerful enough why can he not enable it? others can keep it mono.
simple.

as it stands seem just some fine chocolate to lure people into buying reaktor (so they can get that filter module setup in a more (k)omplete synth architecture)

minimoog was played by famous drunkards aka Wakeman and the likes,
Prophet 5 by creative folks like Patrick Cowley
If someone would give me a Minimoog for free, I'd take it only to resell it right away, because it's such a useless piece of sh*t from 70's, yeah it was used on some famous tracks as a bass or lead, it's still useless piece of crap, and ended up on those records because players were too drunk to use anything else, just f**king around with you
