it's called being inspired in unexpected ways? Sometimes we just want to hear a sound that we haven't thought about or intended.e-crooner wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 4:04 pm Same here, I already have the sounds I want to make in my head before, so I construct them in a deliberate way.
What is the point of clicking some random button a zillion times until something more or less reasonable comes up?
List of synths with "randomize" function?

The only thing that has influence on the random-result it is the 'seed' (programmer's joke).tatanka wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:20 am Markus, is there anyway to have influence on the randomizer function in Icarus ? I did not found anything in the manual so far.
To answer the question: Currently not. But it is possible the extend the functionality here if there is demand

I would be interested in having more adjustments for that feature...Markus Krause wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2020 4:30 amThe only thing that has influence on the random-result it is the 'seed' (programmer's joke).tatanka wrote: Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:20 am Markus, is there anyway to have influence on the randomizer function in Icarus ? The dinosaur Simmolator has a randomize button. Mostly makes junk sounds, but you can get some good ones too.

Great thread!
Lots of synths I've not heard before, and I also didn't realise Massive had a randomise function!?
Interested hardware synths too, as I have a Hydrasynth and Virus TI which offer this feature and I use them a lot as I'm not so great at programming stuff myself.

Minipol from karanyi Sounds has a randomize features(s).
Bleass Alpha has a randomizer.
I just picked up a hardware unit(tabletop VA) … Skulpt by Modal. It has a randomize function as well.

Just got a Waldorf Pulse 2 and it has a random patch generator - every time you select patch #500, a new preset is generated. Some of them are terrible or silent, but many of them are better than the horrible factory patches

Sorry to bring the cliché, but reaper has a script that will randomize selected/all/except-protected parameters with specified amounts of delta from the current value 'mpl Randomize Track FX parameters', it does a very good job of making any synth have a randomize function, even ones where some parameters would break a 'randomize all parameters' feature.
