The rest will end up in the cheap legacy section of their online shop, rubbing shoulders with Pentagon etc. :D

Does anyone know if Rapture can load Dimension Pro programs? I have some expansion packs for DP but wanted use them in Rapture (along with the Garritan Pocket orchestra as well} :-)

No, just like the programs would not load into any other sfz engine synth. The programs contain information specific to the synth.

scook wrote: I absolutely agree with the piscis recommendation for pads. The Architecture Waveforms maybe not as much. Since Chad decided to blow out Universal 120, I would get that first. In addition to a lot of useful patches, the included LFO, EG and SG files were designed to make it easier to create your own patches. Very useful stuff.
Yeah right scook, it does look like a better deal especially if you are committing to Rapture. They have a sale on it now its only £13.37

I been wanting Dim Pro forever, instant buy for me. I bought Rapture a long time ago for $99 and I thought that was a great deal!

Not impressed with the sound coming out of Rapture.. it has a sterile, digital sound to my ears. I like digi synths too.. but this one sounds flat. :(

I've yet to hear a Cakewalk synth that sounded really pleasing to my ears.. outside of maybe Pentagon I (but that was an rgcaudio product).

The gui is also a bit small (fonts especially) to me..

Perhaps I just need more time with it.. :(

Update: Yes, more time, and updated patches... http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Raptur ... sion-Packs

Listening to those.. it sounds quite nice now to me (still a little boxy and flat but much better).. pretty amazing that waveforms can alter the sound so dramatically. It is night/day different to me.
the same guy from rgc made Rapture

Agreed! The Galbanum libraries for Rapture are excellent, as well:

You could PM Chad and ask him nicely to hold a copy for you.

Chad,

Where do you install the fisound bonus presets?

Don't forget to refresh the patch browser, F5 key (in windows, I don't have a MAC so I cannot help there) when the patch browser is open. By default all Rapture patches are located in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs (Windows since Vista). ProgramData is a hidden directory. The 120 bonus directory is "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs\00 - Universal 120 Bonus"

Yes, I've had the Rgcaudio suite since it was rgcaudio. :hihi:

I was never a big fan of the Z3ta sound either.. could become very resonant and boomy too.. maybe a little slushy sounding as well. I always thought that was the case of the filter though there.. might have been (at least partly) the wavetables I see now.

Pentagon I, however, sounds very nice.. even today.. to my ears.. Square I isn't too bad either..

Just bought Rapture, but it keeps crashing Reaper 64bit on Windows 7. Anyone else had this issue? I can play a few presets, but then it crashes.

What, no mention of Triangle II? Still a free download from Cakewalk.
