After a day of working with it, I have to say "Wow", I am really enjoying it! As with a lot of Steinberg things, I feel like people have actually sat around a table and said "What is the most intuitive way for the user to do A, B and C".
Everything immediately feels like it's where it's meant to be.
CONS (minor)
- No Retrospective MIDI Record, but hey, I can forgive them for that.
- Factory sounds are okay.. ish. In fact, they're fine, I'm being sniffy about it.
- I got some glitches recording chords in a MIDI track. If I can repeat it I'll post a bug report.
So, I didn't get it on sale, but at £35 I don't feel like I paid too much at all. Well worth it.
