Will do!

(but am currently too stressed out to work on those issues)
Fair point.

Since the VST2 version works normally currently in Wavelab (as long as I don't touch the sync button!), I know my ways around it.

? :D
As U-HE barely does any sales, and there is also no "tape machine retired due to SATIN" campaign, I think 89USD until mid October(!!!) is more than fine - no?

The company needs to stay alive, and I remember Urs saying that they need(!) at least several hundred users with VAT in order to make it all even again.

If I wouldn't have been so persistent in terms of asking for EU prices, I don't think that the shop link would have been posted. So... early adopters actually help(!) U-HE in a good way, and you get to use the plugin one week sooner than planned.

At your own risk.
Damn, forgot about the people that would take that comment to serious, my bad :(

I like jokes once in a while - and I also like to see sales as money certainly doesn't grow on trees. But... like I said: U-HE barely does any sale, it's currently reasonable and competitive priced. Not to mention that certain functions are a niche product (the Noise Reduction being one, and the capability to have a 4 tap tape delay being another. And... U-HE needs to pay their emplyee's as well.

So, you can either support a company that sells due to sheer mass and fame (*cough - company in Egypt - cough*), or support a fine team that pays attention to detail and doesn't charge you for an arm and a leg.

A tape machine at that quality alone costs 149-199USD these days - emulating just one or two machines. A tape delay would cost extra (even if there are excellent low priced ones - like GSi's Space Echo clone - though sadly still in x86), same with a flager. So this deal is actually great - as mentioned earlier in other threads: it's a tool box. And a great one at that as well. So I gladly took the risk as I'll certainly use SATIN not just as a tape machine!

Or... your alternative is wait for the second hand sales - which will happen eventually.

ZEBRA and DIVA lie on a whole different ballpark. But I've seen colleagues that sold their synth arsenal and pretty much kept U-HE and Spectraonics synths. Then the prices are adjusted again.

But maybe try ICANHAZCHEEZE, maybe this is working. :P

The code field is usually enabled for the Z2 Crossgrade, but we do have a few other things going. We have deals with NI, Ableton, Magix and Apple where their staff gets a few percent off, and in return we get discounts on their stuff, including hardware. There's also the occasional incidence that makes me feel like I should give back. Like, when Ed Harvey posted those stunning Zebra presets.

While we never do sales, we still contemplate some sort of user loyality reward. We haven't quite worked it out yet. Too busy coding

Alright. Couldn't wait any longer. Bought and registered. I mean, what was I supposed to do all weekend? Go outside? :band2:

Post

Yes, it's a great bargain, no discount codes needed here. My conclusion that the price of €82,82 was a very good one was also confirmed by an independent numerologist, who arrived at the exact same conclusion by a completely different methodology. ;)

;) Be happy if you don't have to pay extra 19% for TAX... We poor Europeans have to (what kinda sux, but such is life)...
That's for all that free street light and doctor checkups we pay for out of pocket.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

That all comes out of our pockets as well, it just does before we even get it.
Cheers

I really want to buy this, as it's a great u-he product, like all the rest, but...

... my ears can't hear the differences (mostly - the FX and extreme tape I can). I've nulled the source to hear just the 'wet' and I can appreciate the difference alone, and can see the changes on a display... but I can't hear them :(

Can u-he fix my ears first, so I can then appreciate this goodness

Seriously, it seems to be great, and if I ever manage to appreciate the subtleties it brings, I'll be straight there, but I think I'm just not tuned-in enough for this one.

Post

You have to use multiple instances of it to appreciate it..
and spend some time.. remember it is not guitar distortion plugin.
Its good to try it on good headphones as well...
It's going to make great mixes sound excellent. Bad mixes will sound bad even with satin :)

oh it tightens the low end perfectly...

the demo vinyl crackles are annoying if you use 20 instances and every instance is crackling in different moment then other... its vinyl crackling hell.

I like the plugin though.. very much!

Post

Wow, what a difference it makes to my mixes! It's simply brilliant!
I put it after my amp sim and almost wept of joy.

Congratulations, Sascha - you really nailed this one!
