Like... I was trying to get very smooth super-waves and smooth multi-PWM before with good results but this is simply ridiculous! You don't even need to put in multi osc mode to get superwaves!
..not to mention ubercool and new static chip-crunchy or sharp timbres.
Sounds great! (Whatever it sounds like... hehehe)

Very cool new waves with the odd/even oscfx too.
OK, I just started a new wave modeling session, hopefully I'll get another 4 waves done.

Might have a go at a composite pitch wavetable myself. If I do I'll post it in this thread.

Felt sick and with a headache after the 7th waveSuloo wrote:so how was the night 3ee?
Hopefully will get another 4 today as well and the wavetable will be ready asap!
So far, the wave precision is about in the 95% range (pixel range) and with most there's no audible difference (the ones that do sound different are simply a bit brighter)
The fastest wave was done in about 30 min I guess but usually it takes about an hour.
Using 2 s(M)exoscopes and a SPAN spectrum analyzer.

The biggest mistake anyone can make when doing this is to forget to duplicate the wave when modeling the next "similar" one.
...had to redo one since you can't (edit typo) copy/paste individual waves... no biggie, now that it's done.
So yeah, ... 5 more!

Currious as well, can lead in all directions actually... when in need of solid, sharp VS "hi-fidelity" bit-crushy smooth sound.Suloo wrote:curious where this leads us..
From solid-sharp EDM basses and bigger hard-sync power leads to nu-chip crunchiness and 1000s of PPG like bell pads
After modeling 1-2 waves, I always take a break and randomly try some quick patching... every time I get some new and interesting timbres even with one osc, that are always harmonically rich and addictive.
Don't have an Alpha Juno but I'm pretty familiar with it's sound character: you can get that sound with these waves too. (not the waves but the digi-crunchy electrolyte sound character especially evident with lower notes)
I have some patch bank projects in mind after finishing this, can't wait!
Not sure, but when combining 2 waves, I might also heard some fairly similar "smooth" timbre character within the SC Prophet VS .

2 waves to go!
(or 3, not sure about the usefulness of one wave so I might model another)
A small tip when building your own waves:
As a final touch you should find a good balance of sharpness. (not too sharp, but just enough to get high partials of lower pitches to buzz through with clarity)
You achieve this by assuring you've got a straight vertical line and then use the key modifiers (in my cases they are ctrl or alt + drag) to bend the lines.
A fairly good spectrum analyzer in this situation is pretty important.
