Allow users to mark some presets as favorites. Show them with some symbol in preset list.
This is very common and USEFUL functionality these days.
Sylenth1 would benefit from this greatly because there are so many sound banks for it.

I'd like to update my suggestions -
So again the main attraction of Sylenth1 is simplicity, versatility & low CPU. But it's also that it's hard to make Sylenth1 sound bad.
I don't think wavetables are the way to go. This really takes up a lot of the "Space" in the design and we have plenty of WT synths now.
No I think Sylenth2 should take the original concept and expand by adding "unique" analog style modules. Like the Livewire module someone posted earlier. I've played on the Pittsburg modular synth and they have something called a blade wave. really amazing to play with. All their stuff was amazing and TBH I'd love to have something that quality in a VST. But some special functions usually only found on modulars would be great. And simple to use ones too.
So
- Unique modular style capabilities with simple controls. Allowing for complex sounds generated with analog synthesis rather than wavetables.
- Free draw LFO's (although I think Massive's implementation is perfect, choose from a selection of shapes, very fast)
- Better reverb
- Better filters - Maybe one wild-card filter. But no formant or comb-+ those are already plentiful and over done.
- Movable effects chain <- Delay + Reverb as Send Or Insert.
- FX and FX send amounts as destinations <- allow for extreme modulation without artifacts.
- Arp + Seq Swing with option for delay to follow swing settings.

This is imo something the DAW should handlesl1914 wrote:Allow users to mark some presets as favorites. Show them with some symbol in preset list.

If they add more layers, they would also have to add more envelopes, LFO's and what not.Sequent wrote:Currently Sylenth has two layers. You could maybe extend that up to three or four layers, which would open up a whole different level of possibilities. Obviously not every sound needs to have that many layers, but it might be interesting from a programming perspective to be have that kind of capability. I think Sylenth is efficient enough that this wouldn't have too much negative impact on the cpu - especially on current machines.
I will simply paste here what I have written in another thread:
- Ability to lock individual parameters or even entire sections across parts (master and slave envelope so to speak)
- Ability to save and load individual parts (after all, S1 is basically two synths in one, so it would be cool to be able to combine two different 1-part patches; this could also be randomized if the part folder were integrated).
- Turning Mod Enf 1, LFO 1, and Misc 1 into part-specific envelopes, LFO's and misc sections (Mod Env A and B, LFO A and B, Misc A and B), so that what is currently Mod Env 2, LFO 2, and Misc 2 become global envelope, LFO and misc sections without number. This would increase the number of each category from 2 to 3, and it would make sense to give each part above all its own envelope (default setting filter cutoff).
- PW knob per osc so that one does not have to waste an entire part in order to get one pulse wave.
- More modulation targets, e.g. individual envelope stages.
- A bigger/fatter/more legible value readout in the display.
- An additional graphic equalizer mode with 4 reasonable bands similar to the one on Waves' Element.

Another reason for implementing a dedicated PW control is that currently there seems to be a bug:
When I create a pulse and modulate the phase of that part via the mod wheel in order to emulate fake PW modulation, the sound does not really change the way it should when I keep the key pressed. Instead there is a slight PW change, but it disappears right away even if I don't let the mod wheel go. However, when I push the mod wheel to the top and then play the key again, one can hear the different PW.
You can try it from the init patch, make only the few changes necessary as described above.

Is this forum dead or is anyone from LD following it? Just wondering because there is no feedback...
In case what I described above is reproducible, I expect the bug to be fixed, since it is not exactly freeware...

Why?
Is it so absurd to expect a bug fix in the case of LD?
My 10-dollar 10-year old SynthEdit synth does right what 140-euro Sylenth1 can't, which I find a bit, um, embarrassing
Odd thing is that the manual continuous pw modulation sounds rather irregular, sometimes it seems to work more or less, then it doesn't...

Here's an idea - How about a real release date?

Chances are that in the next couple of years your bug will fixed, I'm sure.fluffy_little_something wrote:Why?Is it so absurd to expect a bug fix in the case of LD?

1. More filter types (even if lower quality, will give more sound possibilities)
2. FM mod (basic at least)
3. Flexible envelopes
4. MultiBand distortion
5. Oversampling

Hi,
The sound part will remain the same for the upcoming update. The update is a complete re-write of Sylenth1 and that was a lot of work already. When it's done and released we can focus on other improvements.
We're very happy with all your enthusiasm to improve Sylenth1 and we sincerely want to thank you for that!
