Alchemy replacements can be Absynth or Blue II.
These have several synthesis types and quite complex synths to create strange soundscapes...

Yeah - Alchemy has great gui and modulation and handling.
But considering only the sounds there are some synths with similar hybrid voice.

I dunno Tone2 synths,
maybe Electrax can count as replacement...

Sorry, Electrax no longer available - it was replaced with Electra 2

(and it even has more synthesis types than Alchemy and has layers and sample import...)

Yea, hard to find better stuff, because it was in the same category with Omnisphere
(same price range too)

Just reading Electra faq:
"
Can i still use my software if Tone2 should discontinue the business?

Unlike competing companies Tone2 won’t go broke in the future. Our software will continue to work even if a nuclear bomb would be dropped on Europe.

No one buys Camel Audio then kills the goose that laid the Alchemy egg in the hope of publically reviving their flagship application sometime in July.

So here is what happed?:
XYZ Co. bought an exclusive option to buy CA till July 7. During this time they will examine Alchemy to see what they can do to it. If they feel that they have not improved Alchemy 2 to the point of becoming a commercial success XYZ Co. will let the option expire and we will never be the wiser. If on the other hand they are happy with the development they will exercise their option to buy CA and release Alchemy 2. The announcement to release Alchemy 2 can come anytime between now and mid July 2015.

i just hope that i can use my Alchemy without problems in future as it works since fl studio 8 for me without any probs so normally if the DAWs devs dont change something it should still work. but how do they handle the activation of serials? i dont mean to motivate to pirate but what happens to us legal customers?

It was Apple.

Alchemy was unique. Things might be able to fill the shoes, but nothing takes the place of. I like it a lot. Love Omnisphere.

I guess we saw this coming. Alchemy didn't contain anything really new under the sun, and it's resynthesis engine wasn't the best sounding one, but that didn't matter. Alchemy's strength was that it was more than the sum of it's features. I always thought it had a great UI and was mostly fun to work with. Logic users are sure going to love v2. :/

But, like others have mentioned, there are already other products that cover parts of Alchemy and... who knows? Maybe now that there's an Alchemy shaped hole in the market, someone will some along and release a contender. Actually, it would be an awesome time for Native Instruments to add some additive functions to Absynth, which is pretty overdue for an update.

All things considered: no real replacement - but maybe Zebra3 in the future (or Omnisphere2)

It seems to be official. Be sad.

Now with Alchemy PC vacuum confirmed NI Abstynth 6 may be pushed to be released sooner or improved considerable and released a later.

The other obvious alternative may be MachFive. I am sure special meetings were set up in several developers to examine their options.
