NICE! This audition browser is something I have been waiting for a while. Group tracks look great too. One of the best NAMMs in a while!

gonna be awesome!!
group within groups is totally mind-blowing.
How many years has that been on the Ableton wish list?
And keep in mind Bitwig has not even had its first birthday yet!
hopefully my Bitwig 1.0 badge gets me a beta test license

I really look forward to bitwig 1.2
I know people have been saying "its not mind blowing" when they have read about it. But people this is what you all have been arguing of getting. Our wonderful team has listened to us! We should not say things like "thats all?". But its we who asked for this soo please respect that they have listened to us! Its not "thats all", this is amazing people we get what we wished for!
The grouping is one of a kind, to be able to have all tracks visible in one group is something new, and you could easily copy across or delete parts without expanding, that is just awesome!
And the audition browser is just wow. Thanks bitwig now i can test out a a preset fast from another synth by having it saved in bitwig, can choose bass and go
through all my synths on preset and load it in project and test another.
Really unique. I feel that you guys have taking something most daws has and actually added your own touch to it which must been a lot of work. It wasn't long ago since bitwig 1.1 was released. Thanks guys so much

I think they merged our mockups, haha (something I did from a while back):TristanMendoza wrote:Seeing that browser I can't help but think I had some kinda influence on the way it looked

But really, there's only a few ways to go about all this and any browser overhaul would have arrived at something similar. I'm definitely excited about this update! Productivity just leveled up.

Really enjoyed the short video. I'm looking forward to the next instalment of Bitwig Studio. Personally, this is more exciting than the 1.1 release, as there are more things that I will use day to day. Group tracks and improved browser, look great and will be very useful. Auditioning sounds in place is going to make sound selection so much easier.

I am really pleased for group tracks!
I do wonder however if we get the option to turn off the mini overview of the regions within the groups on the arrangement. The reason being that my main use for group tracks is de-cluttering the arrangement, where as on the screen grabs I've seen so far the group tracks look like regular tracks albeit smaller... and all the small regions kinda adds clutter a bit imo. I'd be quite happy with one equal sized "folder region" region, like in other daws, that you have to actually expand to see what's in them.. .
I'm sure it will be great in practice though & this certainly isn't a gripe, just a hope.

Very excited to see how group tracks + multi VSTs works together. Already have quite a nice default Addictive Drums patch set up but reckon it will get better with 1.2... If we can save group track presets that will also be super cool (i.e. a multi out VST with all the routing etc. already configured within a group) although it's not too hard to just open up a project with one in and drag it out at the moment.

February is going to be a looooong month waiting for the beta to drop.

Being able to launch different scenes from entire folders is going to be huge for experimenting with different arrangement and part ideas. That combined with the other group functionality is absolutely excellent. Very simple and intuitive but can yield excellent results! Cheers Bitwig team.

Isn't bounce in place basically the same as freeze?Dead0k wrote:nice 2 features and couple extras
they could add resize to their tracks, and freeze button .. small inquiry but handy and needed
I'm not sure about resize tracks- I have this feature in cubase and obviously you can edit midi etc on the actual track, BITWiG you click the track and edit in the window- for me, that keeps things neater, but I must admit when I first tried BITWiG I kept trying to drag the tracks to make them bigger or smaller! Now I don't even think about it, with layered editing in the edit window which can be resized, I just use the track window for layout.

Guys, the developers are giving us much requested features every quarter. Every 3/4 months not every year. They are working hard non-stop and while they introduced these two heavy-duty features in 1.2 there are many many more under development. The conversation I had with them at NAMM didn't even mention 1.2... It was all about 2/3 years down the line and competing with the heavyweights (sorry Live you're not included in that group).

No. Freeze is reversible at any point in the composition process (so non linear). Bounce is only reversible using undo (so linear).SLiC wrote:Isn't bounce in place basically the same as freeze?Dead0k wrote:nice 2 features and couple extras
