Yeah I got the same thing. Waldorf....love your synths, but c'mon....get it together.V0RT3X wrote:So i paid the upgrade fee,

This only happened during the activation process. Once i had it registered the sound went away.
SO if anyone buys the upgrade then make sure your track is muted before you enter the serial number in.
I am very thankful I did NOT have my headphones on because it may have caused hearing damage...

Sorry for the hijack, but
Ingo,
maybe you can help out here with a problem I have in Cubase:
I'd like to load the various ROM kits to different bank slots so I can mix and match sounds between them. This is easy to do in the VST2 version but somehow I only manage to use the first bank slot in the VST3 version, so I'm constantly overwriting this one slot instead of loading presets to different slots.
I had the same problem with the original Attack and had hoped that this would be fixed in the Waldorf Edition 2 Version of Attack (still hoping there will be a real Attack 2 with expanded modulation capabilities etc.).
Cheers, Jo

This morning I did some looking into this and you are right. Here's what I can confirm:Josmoker wrote:maybe you can help out here with a problem I have in Cubase:

- If you use the VST2 version and a plugin host/DAW that supports VST bank changes, you can build your own custom banks with all of the included ROM and FXP kits, and save these as preset banks that you can load later.
- If you load the VST3 version, however, bank selection is not apparently possible, and you can only load the built-in ROM kits into the very first bank slot. You can't load the FXP presets, even if you try drag/dropping them onto the plugin UI.
- You also cannot load any preset banks saved by the VST2 version of the plugin! I thought I was going to be clever and fix VST3 by being able to load my prebuilt banks from the VST2 version, but the VST plugin does not list my VST2-created banks.
- The VST3 version looks in three different directories for vstpreset files: C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound\User Content\VST3 Presets\Waldorf\Attack, C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\VST3 Presets\Waldorf\Attack, and C:\ProgramData\VST3 Presets\Waldorf\Attack. On my computers the last two of those folders didn't even exist. I ran a process monitor to see what folders Cubase was looking for whenever I tried to load a preset.
- I can save my own banks from the VST3 version and load those- but this is useless, since the bank has only one usable kit slot, and I can only access the 8 built-in kits with it.
- After creating all three of the folders Attack scans for, I copied/pasted all of my Attack banks/kits into all three folders, and the ONLY ONE the VST3 version shows is the blank bank I saved from the VST3 version of the plugin. (Three times, since I saved a copy in each folder.)
EDIT: This was on Cubase 7.5 64-bit, 64-bit Windows 7 Pro.
EDIT 2: The Waldorf official forum is a ghost town. Also, when I search for "waldorf blofeld" on Bing, the official Waldorf site is on PAGE FOUR of the search results. Waldorf might wanna put some effort into SEO.

VST3 and AAX presets do not know the difference between single kits and a bank of kits which is why it's onlöy possible in the VSt to use this properly.
Actually this this problem was alraedy noticed and we discuss how this could be done.
at the moment a workaround is to save a bank with the VST2, import the VST2 into the VST3 (by drag & drop from the Windows Explorer) and save the imported bank in VSt3 format.
Wthis is how i created the Waldorf Edition 2 presets in different formats. You could check this for the link (was just updated):

First, let me say how much I appreciate the work you've been doing here.Ingonator wrote:Actually this this problem was alraedy noticed and we discuss how this could be done.

I am not sure how you did it. Using 64-bit Cubase 7.5, with the VST3 version of Attack 2 (the version I downloaded the day it was announced last week), I cannot drag/drop any of the following file types to Attack:
- VSTPRESET kits
- VSTPRESET banks (not even the ones in your zip)
- FXP files
Not gonna worry about it anymore though; the VST2 version still works fine.

For drag & drop the host has to be started without adminstrator rights. For this you have to deactivate the administrator rights for the EXE file of the host or for the desktop link of the host. For this in Windows 7 you right-click on the desktop symbol of the host and open the Preferences from the right-click menu.UltimateOutsider wrote:First, let me say how much I appreciate the work you've been doing here.Ingonator wrote:Actually this this problem was alraedy noticed and we discuss how this could be done.

The only way I can load the presets you created is to just copy the files to one of the folders it scans for presets.
- VSTPRESET kits
- VSTPRESET banks (not even the ones in your zip)
- FXP files
Not gonna worry about it anymore though; the VST2 version still works fine.
This works with e.g. Cubase (VST3), AAX (Pro Tools) and also Bitwig Studio (VST2).
Anyway as mentioned in the other thread there was a bug where Delay parameters of old Attack kits were not propely imported in Version 2. I got an updated plugin here but AFAIK this was not officially published yet. In the recent version of the presets taht i created i also changed teh Attack presets in a way taht only uses 2 outputs and not more. The old Attack plugin was only able to use two Delay settings anyway (while in Version 2 you y´could use 6 different for all outputs or even 6 different effects).

Just as a data point, I do not run Cubase with admin rights; I have User Account Control enabled and Cubase just runs with normal privileges (it doesn't prompt me for elevated access when I run it). In fact, I stopped using any plugins that won't work without Admin rights if they are stored in the Program Files folder.Ingonator wrote:For drag & drop the host has to be started without adminstrator rights. Also, drag-and-drop works fine for me with the VST2 version, just not the VST3 one. Really weird.
