Jo, just reading the last few posts made me wonder whether the new grain player is a kind of experiment in timestretching, seems a very similar kind of concept, or is it coincidental ?
Beauty is only skin deep,
Ugliness, however, goes right the way through

It's not a coincidence, it's the result of explorations in that direction.

The next version will have an extra Grain Player mode, similar to the Playback mode, but then the effective grain length will be constant, independent of the pitch.

There are new MUX Modular 7.2.14 VST packages in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/

What's new:
  • Grain Player: Added a new mode: Playback II. In this mode the effective grain length is independent of the pitch.
  • MUX VST for Mac: Further finetuned the editor window resize behaviors in the different host DAWs.
How to install: The new M7.2.14 zip packages contain the DLLs only so make sure you already have installed the complete M7.2.10 package, then replace the relevant files by the new ones in the M7.2.14 zip packages.

There are new MUX Modular 7.2.16 VST packages in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/

What's new:
  • The "Rounded Corners" preference has been renamed to "Button & Frame Corners" and now has 3 options instead of only 2 before. The default rounding of buttons and corners now is a more subtle one.
  • Added a new preference "Button Gradient Intensity". The more this goes to zero, the more flat the buttons are.
  • The "Audio Level Solid Display" preference has been renamed to "Audio Level Display Style" and now is a percent value so you have smooth control over whether audio level meters should look solid or interleaved, or something in-between. The new default is a quite solid one but with a subtle interleaving.
  • Fixed an audio waveform drawing bug that occurred in certain cases.
  • Dropping a parameter on a meta-parameter did not always popup the meta-parameter map dialog. Fixed.
  • The meta-parameter map dialog did not always close when pressing [Esc] as should. Fixed.
  • While scanning VSTs, even more detailed info is logged to the system log.
How to install: The new zip packages contain the DLLs only so make sure you already have installed a complete M7.2.10 or up package, then replace the relevant files by the new ones in the M7.2.16 zip packages.

Hi.

I´m testing Mux for the first time on mac. I´m very interested in this software, really powerful and intuitive.

I´m having some problems with it in Live and Bitwig, my 2 main hosts.
In Live it runs ok except when I want to select vst plugins inside Mux, as soon as I try this Live crashes.
In Bitwig it doesn´t crash but the vst selection window freezes. There is a problem changing presets too. the plugin window takes a long time loading the interface and it stays blank. It loads sooner if you unshow and show plugin editor in bitwig.

System: OS X El Capitan
MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2014
Nvidia GeForce GT 750M

Ok, now I understood that I have to place the whole mix modular dir into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST...

Only problem now, it crashes/force-quits Renoise 3.1 64bit after the license info disappeared. Now it crashes all the time on rescanning plugins...

EDIT: after 3rd rescan, it works now.

Confirmed bug, will be fixed asap! New update will be available in about an hour.

Of all Mac hosts in which i tested MUX Modular, Bitwig was the most odd one. I tried to workaround it, and it works on some MacOS versions, but i received reports it does not on other MacOS versions. Weird stuff. While it should be as easy as pie, if all devs follow the VST 2 SDK rules! I don't get it why many devs all try to do it in another way
Ok in the next update i have added extra specific workaround code, it still works fine here in Bitwig on MacOS Sierra, as it did before, now lets see if that new patch code to rock MUX VST into Bitwig also works fine on the other MacOS versions.

That thing is resource hog too and become glitchy fast, not so good coding skills at display there obviously.

That was fast!

I did a quick test and Mux is working ok on both Live and Bitwig.

I will keep on testing, It seems to me that you will have a new customer soon :-)
