The Fxpansion 'TransMod' mod system and the one used in Alchemy are the best I have used.

Just found this on the Synapse forum: http://forum.synapse-audio.com/viewtopi ... 69#p115162

Dunno if it was officially confirmed here yet, so, yeah, that is that.Richard wrote:It is not possible to have 2 resonant filters in a row (i.e. both with Q) [in Dune 2], however this is planned for DUNE 3.

Well, it doesn't. Hence i pasted the link here, so people know that it is officially confirmed that 2 serial filters are coming in Dune 3. I haven't read that here yet, so i thought it would be a good idea.

Good to know that the dual filters are confirmed.
Richard also noted in the Dune2 thread that D3 will be fully preset compatible with D2. There will be new analogue modelled modes for all or most of the effects but they will be in addition to the current ones, not replacing them, as far as I understood.
I think when more people post their FRs here we could make a consolidated list containing the FRs mentioned by at least two people and then someone (me?) posts it over the synpase forum.

Rich sold his virus years ago, after he used it for the original Dune.izonin wrote:Synapse did a very good job emulating the MiniMoog. What I'd like to see in Dune 3 is a close emulation of the Virus filters.

Really curious what he modelled from the Virus, if anything. Dune sounds nothing like it.AnX wrote:Rich sold his virus years ago, after he used it for the original Dune.izonin wrote:Synapse did a very good job emulating the MiniMoog. No. And now that we talked about that, and you pulled your straw card, we can happily wait for someone wo actually owns a Virus to confirm the obvious. That Dune sounds NOTHING like the Virus. I can only guess that some of Dune's architectural parts were somewhat modelled on the Virus. If any of the sound was actually modelled on it, then, sorry, epic failure. It seems to share some waveforms with it though. And it has filters and envelopes too.

As a Virus Ti owner I would say where Dune has similarities is in the voice and unison architecture and the fact that it can create huge patches with lots of voices. However the rest of it is not similar. On the other hand Spire probably comes closest in terms of some of its filters (and its reverb) but can't do the voicing thing and eats CPU.
So if Dune 3 could put both elements together it may get closer, although I'm less interested in an emulation (since I already have the real thing) than what it can do in its own right. For me it's the wavetable functionality that needs the most work and the filters have room for improvement. The ladder from Legend would be great of course.

Yes, same feelings here (I have the Virus too).aMUSEd wrote:As a Virus Ti owner I would say where Dune has similarities is in the voice and unison architecture and the fact that it can create huge patches with lots of voices. I wish Spire had a global unison similar to Virus and also I want to have its shaper section between the filters. Then it would be close enough to Virus for most of my tasks.
I don't think Dune needs to develop in the direction of Virus emulation, rather it could become a sort of software equivalent to Andromeda - a polyphonic/unison synth with more analogue-like character, great for evolving pads and sequences, in case Richard uses his knowledge in the anlaogue-emulating area.
Also curious to see what will be in there in the WT area
