perhaps - "Tracktion BothWorlds" ?
because of the visual fader workflow that has been classic since ever.
(there is a disney meme from a musical song, i think it was about the mermaid.)
Tracktion alternatives?

I don't think so. They didn't have to change the name because the company is named 'TC'. I think, they'll try to sell their other poor products (vsti and hardware) under the hood of a never ending and unqualified development of a buggy (and meanwhile bloated) DAW.scalawag wrote:Tracktion is now the name of the company, so they had to rename the DAW to something else.
It was not the vision and intention of Jules... In my view.

Oh come on. That's unnecessarily harsh, and a pretty cheap shot. (It's 'TSC' btw, not 'TC'.)fanta1 wrote:I don't think so. They didn't have to change the name because the company is named 'TC'. All DAWs seem to have periods where things are being stretched and pulled and a problem-prone a version hits the streets:
Ableton Live version 8
DP version 6
Logic 8
Cubase version 6.5
Guess what? All of the above have moved on to much better and stable versions. Waveform is probably going through something similar right now. Cut TSC some slack and give them a chance to catch their breath.
Sheesh.

We debated long and hard about naming and eventually found it to be easier to rename the DAW rather than the company.
Waveform was chosen as a rather literal and concise way of naming a piece of software that you use to "form waves" (mostly by mixing other waves). Many other suggestions that didn't make it seemed to abstract or silly.
With any name change, there will inevitably be a period of slight confusion but I think most people understand it's a natural continuation of the Tracktion DAW which frees up the Tracktion name for our company branding.
"Tracktion" is synonymous with our team and ethos, it only made sense to be able to apply that to all of our products and those we're still to make...
