Urs, Repro5 is so good you should do a dedicated Roland JUPITER-6 next..

Cool! that is pleasant to hear...Urs wrote:And I wish Robert and his gang all the best with it! It's always great to see that someone can pull off a new idea, especially when I consider them friends.
Alright, so Mr. DragonUrs wrote:We're certainly a bit more conservative in our designs, but then we had a couple of good ideas too, which we still thrive upon.
Now, Urs, I am sure Z3 will be fabulous and have all sorts of cool stuff, and why wouldn't it, I get the feeling that it is years in the making now, right? And if is coming off of Zebra 2, well that is quite a synthesizer right there.
See, why I posted earlier, about Aparillo, was just to ask you if your team would be willing to take a realistic look at this development direction, which SugarBytes is clearly displaying with recent products (Obscurium), and build a product along those lines, but guess what? With your unique energy, just along a different template, or blueprint, than you might have otherwise thought of...
Do you get my point? If they really are your friends, and you truly respect them, and ego fades to the background, why not allow yourselves to be genuinely influenced by a new approach to synth design, which as I said before, is clearly holistic & ultra modern.
Man, Urs Heckman, let me tell ya somethin'...in my humble view, a u-he synth designed along an Aparillo paradigm, with your unique ideas...well, this is the type of thing can push creativity forward, really energize things. And if you did something cool, it could influence them, in return, and hey...wait a minute...there are even other software developers in the world, right? I mean, besides you German dudes
Oh, shit, it could influence them guys too...and then,
Didn't I say..."for the betterment of humanity"...

Wow...not impressed with the answer here, Urs...not at all...
Look, I know you must be busy, and why waste time talking on the old KVR, right, but for heavens sake, please do not call me "bonkers", I mean, come on, can we agree on that?
I felt I made a very realistic and comprehensive post, I simply asked if you would ever develop an instrument according to a fresh style, also indicating I had alot of respect for your company...and you give me an abrupt little answer...bullshit really...perhaps a "bonkers" answer?
Help me out here...if you care to take the time Urs, tell me what you felt in my post that caused you to say such a ridiculous thing?
Oh, and if you think I'm a troll, spammer, or affiliated with rival software companies....heh heh, I am a musician Urs, and I thought it would be cool to talk to you, but your abrupt, frankly terse, answer just hurt my feelings man. Very disappointed.

I am not Urs, and I may not express his views. But you call his comment ridiculous and then say he hurt your feelings. His comment expressed that he understood your enthusiasm. Then, in plain English used the term "let's" which means, "let us"...meaning everyone posting here. The idea of not getting "bonkers" is a gentle way of saying "respect our company's direction" in my opinion.Grizzellda wrote:Wow...not impressed with the answer here, Urs...not at all...

For all we know, bringing up another dev's synth in HIS COMPANY'S forum could be considered more offensive than him calling that idea "bonkers". You could have hurt his feelings! It is plain disrespectful.
Those kinds of suggestions belong in an anonymous suggestion box.
Look at any of u-he products, and their vision is quite clear. Their designs are obvious, but work to the betterment of their products as noted by the INCREDIBLE support they receive by 3rd party preset makers. They keep us in the loop like no other company. They offer us "works in progress" to keep our thirst at bay...who else does that? Not Sugar Bytes. Not anyone else I can think of at this moment.
So instead of taking more time away from him for your personal feelings, be glad he is even present on the forums. Be glad he took a moment to consider your suggestion. And the rest of us will be glad he didn't take you up on "fresh new" approach, and will keep making fantastic focus-driven products.

Alright: thejonsolo, first let me thank you for those ideas, you have given me things to consider, and if I came here ...into u-he's forum...yes, I can understand what you are saying. The thread was not about Aparillo, perhaps I barged in, but politely, at least,
I hope!
So Urs: if you read this, I certainly wasn't wanting to hurt anyone's feelings here, and I understand the idea that glorifying another company's synth on your forum was somewhat "less than elegant".
Not tasteful, perhaps?
Bonkers?
Dunno, but I get your point...how about enthuisiastic?
Okay...noted, certainly was not trying to be "offensive"...maybe the material I want to explore should be in the Instruments Forum? And if so, allow me to apologize. But Urs is a big boy, right, thejonsolo?thejonsolo wrote:For all we know, bringing up another dev's synth in HIS COMPANY'S forum could be considered more offensive than him calling that idea "bonkers". That's "One" of the things the SEM does well Urs. Kudos. The other as egbert says is 2/4/8 voice modes in Rotate Voice Mode for those of us that dream of Lyle Mays, Zawinul, Dave Stewart, Jan Hammer, 808 State, Ulrich Schnauss, and Tycho sounds. Just sayin'.
Still not sure why no one has done a proper OB Four Voice/Programmer virtual instrument. The Arturia SEM is not bad but there programmer is really whacked out.

Anyway, I'm okay with a mono/duophonic SEM/Minimoog if there's a nice built in arp or sequencer. However, there's always the Eight-Voice, so there's still hope for a massive beautiful sounding Oberheim pad.

why not doing a roland cloud offensive, something like TAL-Mod or diva to rebuild all roland classic Synth plugouts, they are all very similar. Nobody wants to join the cloud, so there would be a huge market in a roland emu synth, that can rebuild all Voltage Controll Synths from the system-100, over sh-101/sh-2, promars to the jx-3p, juno106 and juipiter-8

Doing accurate emulations is very exhausting. I need long breaks between those, otherwise I go insane.sacer wrote: Mon Feb 11, 2019 10:09 am why not doing a roland cloud offensive, something like TAL-Mod or diva to rebuild all roland classic Synth plugouts, they are all very similar. I can imagine that working in every detail, to analyse and reproduce every behaviour can become very boring... on the other hand repro was worth this excelent job
