Poly aftertouch = poly pressure. It's the same thing. Some vendors say "pressure" for channel aftertouch and "aftertouch" for poly aftertouch, or vice versa, but it's all the same thing. Pressure=aftertouch.

If you turn off MPE then you don't get per note (or in this case, MIDI channel, since notes get reassigned to MIDI channels in order for per note bending to work) pitch bend as pitch bend is a channel message, so all notes would get the same bend offset.

However, I realized that notes are bending relative to one another and not independently, as the are with Equator. In other words, if I'm playing a C major chord and start to spread my outermost fingers apart, I'd expect the chord to fall apart. It doesn't: it picks one finger and moves the entire chord relationship, so there are the exact same numbers of semitones between notes, like the whole chord is bending.

What DAW are using? For instance, there's been a longstanding complaint from electronic drummers that Studio One doesn't respond to Polyphonic Aftertouch at all, which prevents cymbal chokes from working. If you were using the Rise with Studio One, that could be just one of the many challenges (I use S1 as my primary DAW but use Cubase for Seaboard work).

My Roli Dasbhoard settings are:

1. Channel Mode: Multi
2. MPE On
3. Range From: 2-16
4. Global channel: 1 (don't think U-he synths actually use this)*

*Note: I suspect MPE = Off, Channel Mode = Multi would work too but my thinking is that keeping MPE reduces the number of excessive trips to the Roli Dashboard application.

Then in Cubase:

1. MIDI Input: Seaboard RISE
2. MIDI Channel: Any
3. Note Expression: CC74 (add if needed), Pitchbend, and Poly Pressure boxes checked
4. Note Expression as MIDI enabled

Diva:

Ctrl A: CC74
Ctrl B: Expression (I use these settings because I have a separate expression pedal)

These settings seem to work with Diva, the Rise and Cubase.

Actually, that's how the Seaboard's ROLI Dashboard app is referring to them, exactly as I quoted in my post. They are two different modes in ROLI's world. PolyPressure should mean true polyphonic pressure, not to be confused with poly aftertouch, which at least as far as ROLI is concerned is simply aftertouch per-MIDI channel. It's pretty obvious to me that they reversed them, though. I'll let them know. The whole thing is pretty confusing.

Cubase (9.5.21) definitely receives PolyPressure data according the MIDI monitor when 'polyphonic aftertouch' is turned on, and when the PolyPressure mode is selected in the Seaboard's app, it's definitely getting aftertouch data per-MIDI channel.

Either way, if u-he could *please* test Diva and others with a Seaboard and modify them as necessary to get both true polypressure working at the same time as the polyphonic pitch bending for which the Seaboard is known, I'd be super grateful! I've been dying for a decent-sounding synth to play with this amazing controller, and Equator just ain't doin' it for me sonically.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure that's exactly how I set it up... I'll try it again when I get some time soon. I could get true polypressure to work, but not with independent, polyphonic pitchbend.

I'm still running into that issue I didn't notice at first where you can't bend the individual notes of a chord e.g. away from each other: one note will drag the others along with it. Are you definitely able to do both? If so, I'll try those exact settings you posted just to make sure. Thanks!
