Oh!!!
Especially since I know how I played things, this is sounding really good!!!
Could you run some of the guitars that intend to be less driven but more crunchy-ish through it (my chicken scratch or blue chord thingies or Wilkorytes AC/DC stuff)?
I'd be really interested on how it'll perform on them.
My only complaint so far: too much bass. But actually, that's the same on both the VAmp and POD - I wonder why. Not a biggie though, in case your plug offers a more efficient bass control than those.

Blimey, that does sound good Midiworks.
You took SF's insipid noodling wankery and (though it pains me to say it) made him sound like Hendrix!
I'd like to hear some stuff with chords though it too rather than just lead. Sounds great so far though.

Is "Distortion & speaker Demo" done with your plugin ????? If yes, then it is by far the best simulation I heard.Midiworks wrote:Small audio demo using one of Saschas takes.![]()

Hell AC/DC

Thanks for the comments so far.
Too much bass... I did it on headphones...
This time again but lowered the bass.
Yes Rik, thats my plugin project.
I think there is no need making something less good
than what is already available.
Yes Sascha, it started all with that Tom Scholz topic !
Great Lady J, I wait for your touch !
Cheers

Man, Midiworks, you know what?
You have a winner here, defenitely!
Almost all the variations sound great!
Some might sound a bit dull or too bright, but I'm sure that's because they're not made for these kinda sounds. There's allways one or the other simply sounding great.
Distortion quality is great, harmonics all sound as they're intended to sound like.
Go on and finish it! In case you need a tester, feel free to use my time (even if it was only to supply more guitar bits).

It sounds like you're well on your way to a winner; however--
Am I the only person noticing digital (ie. unmusical) clipping in most of those takes? If it's just from clipping on mixdown, you're still laughing. But if it's the product of the VST itself, you might need to check into it.

Wao Greg, you have very good ears !Lunch Money wrote:It sounds like you're well on your way to a winner; however--

Yes, the cliping is from the mixdown.
Too many level settings, needs only one to go over
zero db...
I thought nobody hears that.
Guess I was wrong.
Thanks Sascha !
Sure I will finish it, but that will still takes a while.

Thanks! I DO have pretty good ears-- the only problem is that I don't know how to FIX what I hear going wrong in my own mixes. <laff> I can say "Jeeziz, the vocals sound too up-front", but when I try to add reverb or chorus or some delay, I inevitably end up with even worse drek. <chuckle>
But enough about me--
Now that I know it was just from mixdown, I AM very impressed with the distortion.

I dont know if its
or
, perhaps both, that a person doing a 'project' can
big companies like NI, IK Multimedia and Line6.
When Lunch Money wrote about digital clipping i was first like
But then, when the truth came out i was more like
and
because of that I didnt hear it.
to you both!

Good stuff, Midiworks
Can you produce that '90 Nu-metal type of sound (think Limp bizkit, Linkin Park, Blink182, etc...). Basicly its a wall of sound type of distorition with those powerful muted notes. I am having hard time geting that type of sound on NI Guitar Rig demo. It seems that other users on NI forum are having the same problem, though. Basicly, it looks like geting a heavy gain sounds is a much harder job then slighthly overdriven crunchy sounds. Guitar Rig, as well as Amplitube and other amp modellers, seem like losing the control when high gain sounds are concerned. They sound much cacophony alike, lots of that ugly digital distortion and unbearable level of noise.
Listen to this example, please. Thats basicly the sound I am talking about.
