I'd buy Propellerheads, Softube, Clavia and combine it into something that can take on NI. It would be glorious

Not quite on the topic, but... I think I would work on a successor to MIDI. It's really beyond me that nothing ever succeeded it. I mean, I do understand the reasons, but, MIDI is really so yester-yester-year. I think it wouldn't be rocket science to develop something better, with better resolution, out of the box API to display parameters on a device's display, out of the box parameter learn system etc.

A billion is still a million of millions (ecept in USA). That's why, internationally, anything about finance uses "thousands of millions" or "millions of millions", and nobody talks about "billions", to avoid confusion.BertKoor wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 9:22 pm Interesting... I thought the US trillion was equal to the British billion. Maybe the difference disappeared when Encyclopedia Brittanica collapsed and Wikipedia became the Unified Source of Truth.

Yeah it's strange Clavia and the Props have never (?) worked together. We've got to ask Ernst!PeterP_swe wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 12:28 pm I'd buy Propellerheads, Softube, Clavia and combine it into something that can take on NI. It would be glorious![]()

Apparently, I learned just yesterday, in Brittain a billion also is a thousand millions. Since 1974!fmr wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 1:00 pm A billion is still a million of millions (ecept in USA). I'd buy Aly James Lab and hire someone to work full time on x64 versions of his plugins so they can be released before x128 is the norm

Fixed that for you.tehlord wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 9:54 am If I had the money to buy a big company I'd retire.
Who wants to deal with a bunch of cheapskate whiny ass bitch entitled mofo too busy complaining online to make music plugin customers?
The Clavia Nord Modular would indeed be a great piece of IP to resuscitate. I've actually thought of making an offer to buy the VAZ Modular code from MadGav...though I have 0 Windows desktop app programming skills.

Why Crysonic?
For newcomers to this thread, the idea is to think of music software companies that could be bought to be improved in some way.
For example, I would buy Rayzoon to make a DAW friendly version of Jamstixx and then make deals with every major DAW developer (like Celemony does with pitch correction).
I would also buy TDR to get hold of the awesome devs.
But I wouldn't buy Melda since Voytech has the perfect setup already, so I couldn't improve on his business.
