not sure, depends on a few things I guess.
not had too much experience with mastering studios but the last one we went to said he didnt have to do too much (infact he messed it up a bit and the 2nd one fixed it, personal tastes ? )
as far as not doing it yourself and not having the right kit, again im not sure about that.
fwiw I have had music broadcasted on T.V Radio and have also sold cd's to various record companys with no complaints (apart from some forum comments)
I also have a friend that stopped paying £$£$£ to mastering studio and DIY, one infact now has a track doing very well and is featured on many compilations.
im sure there is a right and a wrong way and people would pull my work to bits. tbh I dont care
