They're selling them cheap because they are probably planning new versions, maybe integrated under the Izotope name. They never have good upgrade prices so they'll get their money then.

I have LiquidSonics Illusion and Cinematic Rooms, Acon Verberate 2 and Exponential Phoenix for natural spaces. I pretty much just use the LiquidSonics reverbs now!

I have LiquidSonics Illusion and Cinematic Rooms, Acon Verberate 2 and Exponential Phoenix for natural spaces. I pretty much just use the LiquidSonics reverbs now!

I have heard Liquidsonics. Can’t stand them. They change the sound too much. Acon is good, but I liked others better. Like those by Exponential.

How does TC Electronics VSS3 compare? I always thought the Nimbus R2 family was the same engine with more/less options. Seems my assumption was dead wrong going by what's written here. I am GUNNING for VSS3 for next purchase and now have to look into this...

All my thoughts were about Nimbus. If you prefer Liquid Sonic impulses over Phoenix, that is your choice. From my point of view Liquid Sonic is nowhere near to Nimbus or even Phoenix in therms of blending with dry source

Reverberate 64 and lexicon impulses are excellent. Don't know about others by them.

VSS3 is very nice reverb. I like its ER section very much and also the way how it blends with dry signal. It has very unique character not suitable for everything. EA Nimbus is more universal and almost invisible, moreover it is a true stereo reverb. VSS3 Native is not true stereo.

I’ve had Phoenixverb for years, since before Nimbus existed. I use it on every song, most often with ER off, as the reverb tail for Virtual Sound Stage 2.

I’m not really sure what Nimbus would bring for realism, since Phoenixverb is already realistic.

The one reverb that might have it beat for realistic spaces is Relab VSR S24. I already have the LX480 which I use for studio reverb sounds. I’m just not sure if VSR S24 would really make a noticeable enough difference in a mix to justify the cost.

+1 for Nimbus being good at "being invisible". Try the "Studio presets" (hit the search bar and type in Studio). Those are great if you want to have space around a source without adding any actual reverb or tail.

Exponential Audio Verbs: PhoenixVerb, Nimbus, R4. Your Thoughts?
