I'll tell ya right now: as a Focusrite interface owner, I get a crazy amount of great plugins for free. I suspect one, or some, of the Sonnox plugins will show up in their "Focusrite Collective" soon. But I digress..4damind wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 11:59 pm Hehe, maybe that would be a good idea
Whether this is good or bad news with Sonnox and Focusrite I don't know![]()
ArtsAcoustic still alive?

My brother can run it in Monterey using Rosetta, so I imagine it's similar with Ventura.

I realize this is an old thread, but I figured out a way to do this in Logic using the IR Utility for the exact purpose of getting some of my favorite reverb settings in Arts:bduffy wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:15 pm No word. I'll send another email to all their available contacts and see if anything pops up.
I've decided I want to capture some impulse responses of AAR to preserve its glory. Anyone recommend a free IR capture plugin?
Putting some chorus on the tail really helps
On my M3 Mac, I can still use the AU Version of ArtsAcoustic in Live without running it in Rosetta for some reason.

What I did was use Accentize Chameleon to capture the reverb's IR, and did exactly what you did: place a chorus at the end. I can get pretty close, but it's limited ot ~6 seconds, mostly due to Chameleon being designed more for audio post for dialogue.
I'll try your IR solution next, but I'll need something VST3-compatible, though.
My brother can still run AAR on his M1 Mac Studio, so there's still hope. But I fear time is running out...

But "Connector" needs a host because there is no standalone app?
I think it works easier with Metaplugin, where you can load 32 and 64 bit plugins (has its own BitBridge). Metaplugin can even load 32 bit Intel plugins on the Mac and is itself loaded as a native 64 bit VST3 version.

I was going to say: something like Metaplugin is probably the ideal solution. Could use Waves Studiorack, or any plugin chainer, depending on compatibility.

I found my old Arts Acoustic Reverb installer and license from years and years ago, and installed from that file, v1.5.0.005, after all these years. Now it resides here both on Windows 10 and in my custom Linux audio environment (through LinVst), and oh man. It works so beautifully in both. Absolutely stunning, and just works (tm), hah. Loads in Reaper on both systems so quickly, with no headaches or additional configuring needed, and works so efficient and stable. I have to admit I had forgotten how beautiful the sound was, and I just know I'm going to be using this a lot going forward, again.
It's almost 2025, and that means Arts Acoustic Reverb will turn 20. Wow.

Wow. 20 years. Incredible. Glad it's working for you—doesn't it sound amazing!?Guenon wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2024 4:59 pm I found my old Arts Acoustic Reverb installer and license from years and years ago, and installed from that file, v1.5.0.005, after all these years. Yesterday I found out that, when I decide to go forward with Cubase 14, VST2 will finally be completely unsupported. So I'll have to move on to using a wrapper like Metaplugin or similar. #sad.

You can actually still enable VST2 plugins in Cubase 14, but indeed, it's only a matter of time before VST2 support is fully dropped in Cubase.bduffy wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 2:57 amWow. 20 years. If ArtsAcoustic were to re-appear and offer a VST3 version, I would gladly pay an upgrade price. I have personally moved onto Relab Development's Sonsig Rev-A which has a very similar vibe but even more depth (IMHO). Some of the ValhallaVintageVerb modes are also a reasonable substitute too.

I would seriously pay the full price again to keep AAR forever. But, alas...fgimian wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 11:40 amYou can actually still enable VST2 plugins in Cubase 14, but indeed, it's only a matter of time before VST2 support is fully dropped in Cubase.bduffy wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 2:57 amWow. 20 years. And thanks, yeah, I finally noticed the hidden "VST2" button in the Cubase Plugin Manager. Very cool. Safe for another year, or so...
I love VintageVerb. I experimented with approximating AAR with it, I'll have to revisit. It's a modern classic, for good reason.

For sure; incredible compressor and Electro-Harmonix clone.
It's so strange: they were expanding their lineup with top-notch plugins, then, BAM! Gone without a trace. Sad.

whatever it was, with a few lines of communication i'm sure fans like me would have understood. the fact that their code was used in Avenger shows that they're active in SOME way. but to give no word, that fuckin sucks, also, probably 10 years now, emailing them to try change my account email and get my serials sent to me... NO response whatsoever.
