Not winner in CPU usage or ease of use tho. :(

I assume I would have more important things to do on such a stupid island than playing with a synth plugin. Like finding a way to get back to my charmingly run-down city :)

Now, if you ask me what my favorite synth plugin is, currently it's Retrologue 2, a few months ago I still would have said Sylenth1.

That hollow - industrial - metallic flavor.

Some of the latest presets have been demonstrating what it can do, and they show promise, but there is always this feeling that its limited in some way by its synthesis method, and when I am on the island I would want a synth that can do everything reasonably well.
So Massive X is limited but Synth1 is not! You just use presets, right?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I am mostly a preset + tweak type of person, yes.

I find Synth1 very easy to program but find Massive X more daunting.

I have been playing around with synths since the 1980s so I know how to program normal synths, but Massive X would require a lot of time for me to get my head around and I have been very busy of late. So I have just been playing with the presets when I get the time.

So are you suggesting that it is capable of the same range of timbres that Synth1 does with ease ?

you're on a desert island, maybe now you have time? to get more in depth.
seems a waste of an opportunity.
no one interrupting, no work, other than hunting a coconut.

It has to be Surge because you will soon get very lonely on the island and Surge has all those free presets which were programmed by people you might even know and that will cheer you up.

The others have presets programmed for commercial gain by strangers.

True, but Synth1 gives mt that happy vibe every time I use it, and Massive X has yet to hit that spot.

My desert island synth would need to be large enough to use as a flotation device
