Like most of the hardware I still own I only have it because I'm too lazy to sell it....Magic Russ wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:47 pm [snip image original Zoom 505]
I had one of those for a year or two. I think I remember thinking the fuzz was cool in its own weird/wrong way. I can't remember much else about it other than your control over each effect was limited and I wasn't impressed enough to keep it.
Probably couldn't get more than 5 or 10 bucks for a Zoom 505 these days....hardly worth the effort.

Right? When we were kids it was worth selling something for $50. Ugh, too much work to sell the useless old tat now.Teksonik wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:51 pmLike most of the hardware I still own I only have it because I'm too lazy to sell it....Magic Russ wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:47 pm [snip image original Zoom 505]

Although it’s possible some of the effect algorithms exist in the ToneLib GFX ampsim

no young vurt would have been terrified of a beach-babe droid
old vurt thinks it's quite sexy though.
but he has been isolated for over 12 months

I have very few rack mount things left from my pre-computer "project studio" days, but still have one of these (used to have two, as I tend to double-up on stuff I like/use a lot) from way way back, though it got a knob 'stem' clipped off when a friend borrowed it a few years ago. I really should fix it. Just need to de-solder the thing and get a replacement.

Guitar Center will buy those things. At least a few years ago i got rid of a Zoom 1010 for like $10-$15 if i recall. I was actually quite surprised they were willing to take it. I used the $/credit in with a few other digital pedals collecting dust to buy another used pedal. The GAS cycle never stops lol.Teksonik wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:51 pmLike most of the hardware I still own I only have it because I'm too lazy to sell it....Magic Russ wrote: Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:47 pm [snip image original Zoom 505]

I had a tc electronics cheapo reverbs and multi fx box that was pretty crap. I did make good use of it by running big loops of feedback through it and a kaoss pad. It was not particularly pleasant sounding and had a very small (2 or 3) parameters to modify the fx.
