This deserves its own thread.crickey13 wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:43 am Just looking at this site I see another thread in which people blame software developers for their own choices and complaining about things that don't matter at all.
Over to the right we have more pointless threads and all of them probably are probably just as bad
I never read them Im just judging a book by its cover. I dont feel I need to read it either because there is already a ton of shit just like it on this site.
Then there are the thousands of questions about best synths, best EQs or the sound of filter as though you were unable to browse the database and download the demos of these products and see for yourself. What are you hoping to achieve with these threads? You dont even know what you're looking for or asking about half the time.
Then there is all the new DAW polls in which people vote for the DAWs that they use, then fight about it with others. No one is going to use all of those DAWs, they are just going to stick to the one they're using or switch to another one with a similar workflow after they get bored.
Why so many threads!!!!! They all start to sound so junk that no one will read them in the end.
There are so many threads where people are giving their advice hoping you will buy the same plugins as them so that you will validate their choices, again what sound are you looking for? Cant you make the damn sound yourself with the stuff you already own? How do you know the sound you want is in yet another plugin?
There is nothing new anymore just shity DAW polls and plugin popularity contests
What we need is a real AI to browse kvr for us so that you can talk to it and say something like "filter all the nitpicking and DAW polls" I dont know.
Until there is AI its probably going to be the same shit over and over.
How many goddamn threads about vst's do we need? All of them? About every software compressor ever made?
There's Too Much Bargin Bin Junk Software Out Now.

because absolute statements are bogus.
An idiot on Set Theory:

OK that's why i asked what you are saying!LFO8 wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 2:56 pmClearly you are missing the point and context of that phrase.
It’s not about anything literal but about the thinking it invokes, the messaging.

wait, what?
"is not inherently good" isn't an absolute statement
"is good" is an absolute statement
but... absolute statements are bogus?

100% agree about AI daw. I watched one documentary about the Ottoman empire & bought a pair of Turkish Harlem pants.kritikon wrote: Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:18 pm
AI DAW...nah. I don't want Alexa /Cortana or any of that shit in my home listening to me and collecting/sending private info god knows where. I don't want that stupid Sky thing where the person watching on the ad can't even decide what to watch because she's so f**king stupid. I don't talk to Google, Microsoft or Samsung in fact I deliberately avoid it where I can, so I definitely ain't going to talk to my DAW - DAWs are not above advertising also, seems like most of them have direct links on their opening page that are not invited IMO.
All in all, I pretty well 180 degrees disagree with you.![]()

We need so few things and they are triple the price that they actually should be selling for.
We need a handful of synths a few compressors and a few other things. Our brains can only learn how to use so many things. All the previous music pre-digital was made with so much fewer tools and sounded so much better than what we have today.

Yeah, I’m getting firehosed with ads for their new thing, which I’m not even sure what it is. Is it good? Maybe, but I’m ignoring it because I don’t currently have a problem that it looks like it would fix. I guess that’s the best way to look at it. Do you have an issue? What’s the issue? What could fix it? Is it a piece of software? Go look for it. Is it hardware? Go look for it. If it’s something you have to do, then do it. My current thing is that I’ve got a vintage wavetable shaped hole in my world that I’d like to fill. There are pretty good software solutions but I was blown away with the Waldorf M demos, so I’ll pick one of those up next month. If someone comes out with a software solution that I feel is up to a similar standard, I’m all in, but until then…cel4145 wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 2:30 pmNI is probably like many big software corporations. I bet they spend a huge amount of money on marketing, and upper management salaries, instead of on development.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 2:02 pm Why a freebie can include MPE, and a paid plugin like Massive X doesn’t even react to polyphonic aftertouch is beyond me, but here we are.
And in the case of MPE, then the marketers also decide what gets developed. Since MPE hasn't taken off yet, they're devoting their resources to developing something else they think will sell. And with marketers, it's not always about being innovative. It's often about what they feel they can push on to people.
I guess I’m kind of jaded though. I bet a lot of this is, “get off my lawnism.” I don’t even have a lawn!

Turkish Harlem pants. I can't quite decide if that's a set of 70s Harlem blaxploitation/soul sequined flares with Turkish logos on them or a billowy set of see-through negligee harem pants that you aren't supposed to wear knickers with.melomood wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 5:11 pm

What if we all wear the pants? Then we're all equally comfortably uncomfortable.kritikon wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 1:15 amTurkish Harlem pants. I dunno - to the wearer harem pants might be very comfortable - lots of breeze around the bits that don't see daylight, sort of thing. Or did you mean we all squeeze into the same pair of pants? Harem pants are big, but not that big.

Wrong and wrong. Think comfortable, khaki colored pants & get your mind out of the comically, semi-racist gutterkritikon wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 1:15 amTurkish Harlem pants.
