LOL
What's so funny? It's one of the most used synths in the past 10 years.
Could you explain precisely how it changed the game industry? Does it create lootboxes? Or did it make PBR possible? Maybe it invented battle royales?
I believe they meant, “…changed the game, and the music industry.”

Punctuation matters.
Even with correct punctuation it's still  , every popular synth is touted as an industry-game changer by it's fanboys .
Serum is just popular nothing more nothing less ,but shaking the music industry on it's fundaments ? .c'mon wake up
Well, I’m assuming when they say, “the music industry,” they don’t mean, “the music industry.” They means the “music software industry.”

Also, last time I created a “loot box” sound (what we call boost boxes, in our game), I used Tone2’s Nemesis. Does that mean Nemesis is a game changer? It changed out game… somewhat…

What's the purpose of Serum 2 anyway? Serum is great as it is, but then adding big features will turn it into an entirely new synth.

...on a second though, Serum could use some dedicated sequencer.

And he didn’t put the words game and industry next to each other.

Clumsily written but obviously not referring to ways to exploit gamers’ pockets or new fight paradigms, no? I don’t like games don’t know what PBR is.
Ah, I see what you mean. :dog: Cheers!
All good 😊

And by “ I don’t like games” I mean I want to like them but I’m so bad that I don’t usually bother as it makes me anxious.

Except for the 2 Portals which I actually finished. Not sure what’s different about them.
ive finally learned how to not just bend and crouch in cod!

Sorry gentleclockdivider. This was uncalled for. This is not the person I want to be. I'll do better in the future.

Serum came out around 2014 IIRC, this was the era when splice was just collaborative stem player. The timing of the launch of serum aligned with the rise of bedrooms producers. The combination of serum, Splice and Ableton has literally evolved the mainstream top40 industry to where it is now. The whole serum preset packs and bedroom soundcloud era has transitioned to what we hear now in the top40.

I don't even use Serum nor Ableton. I'm just telling it how it is because I witnessed it first hand. Every writing session and discussion surrounding production from 2014 until even now, Serum is always brought up. 99% of top producers in terms of production credits, still use Serum as a go-to weapon.

Inconvenient to handle with LFO. Along with its various scripts, Falcon is very good at this.

few years ago i did couple of presets for a developer who said i don't understand why other developers use two filters in different modes - immediately lost interest to use his products.
I hope Serum 2 will have at least two filters, which isn't big deal these days so to give it a try...
New standard for popular synths should be minimum 4 layers,4 osc,4 filters,4 lfo's,4 adsr so on,as well limitless mod matrix modulations - such stuff are still not available in any pop 'sugar' synth and unless you go to powerful modular machines, you have to make these layers in your daw - i don't like cables so will wait till some developer start listening more carefully,so to pay him/her/it 100+ euro (in case the euro didn't sink even more next year and have to pay 1000+ hihihi :)
Serum1 is ok,but nothing special these days,so really curious what second one will be...

fwiw, even with the amended version, i would need a lot of convincing.

Yo Serum people do you wish if deadmau5 did more live streams nowadays, like he used to in the olden golden days, then you could presumably catch Serum2 on his screen. Remember when nobody knew about Serum but he had already been using it for a good while before it was released and people were asking him on live stream ‘yo deadmau5 what vst you are using there’ and it was serum. And now it’s a classic.

All this time, I thought Maustødt was a great sound designer. Now, it turns out he was just another Serum user.

In fact he was involved in the development of the UI I think? TAL contributed with some of the effects and filters are some older Cytomic design, I ting
